Lending out my amp
I'm a little nervous........I'm lending out my amp for the very first time. I know this guy through other people, so I don't know him too well but he did me a huge favour once. I had a gig I had to play but last minute before the gig there was a death in the family and I decided it wasn't appropriate for me to play so I…

LP Almost fell out of case......
Have any of you ever picked up your guitar case and then realized that when you picked it up it was actually open and almost lost your guitar?? Tonight right before our jam session, we were setting everything up and I picked up my case to move it where I wanted it and the case was some how open. I always shut my case. It…

$493,000 Us
Is what it would've cost you to buy Jimi's 1965 Strat, that he set alight 40 years ago at Finsbury Astoria in March 1967. Here's a news video clip on it. I'm sure Jimi would turn over in his grave watching that BBC reporter playing it. Oh boy, i would love to hold that little baby for just a couple of seconds even.....…

Supro Electrics?
Anybody know anything about the company in general? My sister-in-law is at an estate sale and they have an old Supro electric for $200. It's pink (!?!?). I know the year, model, condition and construction are all factors in determining the value of a guitar so I'm not asking what anyone thinks it's worth, my question…

Finally got......
I finally got my acoustical sound absorbing wall panels done and hung on the walls this past weekend. They look great, way better than I expected. The room sounds soooo much better too and I saved a tonne of money instead of buying them. I'll try and post some pictures soon. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips and advice…

USB turntable – is worth it?
If I buy one and put all pj vinyls on my computer with it, will Avocado sound better on my ipod? Or is this one of my half assed attempts to get around the shitty sound quality of Avocado? Hehehehe (sorry if this is in the wrong category)

JCM 800 50W v 100W...any difference?
Hey all, I'm in the market for a Marshall JCM 800. I see a lot of 50W models around, and only a few 100W. Is there a major difference in sound between the two, or is it more of a volume thing? I won't be playing any gigs with it, so I don't need anything super loud, but I want that JCM 800 sound. If there's absolutely no…

epiphone lefty g-400
So i have about $550 to spend. I have and old epiphine electric that cost me $199, but its dying. I love the way it plays, so i am looking for something similar. I am back and forth about saving up another $500 or so and going with a Gibson - or doing the financing thing. however, i think i need something soon, so i found…

Jam Session
I just had an awesome jam session tonight in my new jam room. It was awesome. It's great that I'm putting the jam room to use. Our set list looked like this: I Alone - Live Hey Johnny Park - Foo Fighters Sugar We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy Sad - Pearl Jam Rearviewmirror - Pearl Jam Got Me Wrong - Alice In Chains…

Any tips?
Hey guys. I'm in a young band and we're just now starting to get serious about this whole music thing. We're all huge Pearl Jam fans. Can anyone give us any opinions on our music? We need some outside advice. http://www.myspace.com/themotionofficial

New baby
Well, I had planned to post pics of my new guitar today, but this other thing happened to kinda distract us. Guitar pics coming tomorrow, meanwhile I thought I would share this with my gearhead buds. She was born at 8am today about 12 hours ago. These pics are taken during her first few hours after birth.…

online drum loops?
Hey, guys. I was wondering something...I don't own a drum machine, but my drummer's out of the state right now and I was hoping to listen to some new ideas I had playing with some basic drums, even if they sound like crap. I've googled for some website that may have a database of drum loops and such, but I haven't seen…

Eddie's version of hurt
Anyone know the tabs for how Ed played this on his solo tour. It was a pretty bad ass version, I dont know if it was just how cash's version was played though cause I know it was a lot different from Trent's (in sound, obviously Trent is piano but there was a lot more fill in eddies version)

Just Curious..........
When you guys are done jammin and using all your gear for the day or night do you put everything away neatly. Do you wrap your cables up nicely, put the amp cover back around the amp, put your pedal board lid back on the case and so on? Or do you just leave everything the way it is then next time you play you just plug in…

Did ya ever.....?
Did ya ever hold a guitar and realize that all the songs that were ever written and all the songs that are ever to be are all right there in your hands WAITING!

Probably been asked already, BUT
What type of guitar did Ed use during "Man of the Hour" on the solo tour? It was fairly small and had a much higher pitch than a normal acoustic.

Vale Rick Wright
Rick Wright from Pink Floyd passed away a few days ago. David Gilmour has a beautiful tribute in his site http://www.davidgilmour.com/. So sad. His music was so influential in my life and I treasure it.

Traynor Question
I recently borrowed a YCV40WR from a local music store for a night. Took it home and played it with my guitars and liked the sound. I heard re-tubing this amp will work wonders. Since it's self-biasing I also heard you can put EL-84 yellow jackets in it. Has anyone done this? I was thinking of getting a AC15cc but the…

OK, OK, guitar this time
Finally took a couple of pics of the new fiddle. It was a struggle to stop playing and put it down for long enough. I then got a call from a bud telling me about a backyard jamfest that was on in his valley with about 8 bands, so I went to that and saw some of best guitar playing ever. I'll start a different thread about…

Odd songs
During band practice today, I began writing a new song that's totally out of our normal sound. Are there any PJ songs which caused them to stretch their genre? I can't really think of any.

I know it's odd, coming from me...but
Most of you have seen my board. I know, it's got a ton of pedals BUT, I was wondering if there was any pedal(s) you could do without or would like to add. I personally bought a Fender Blender from Monster78 a couple years ago but I rarely use it. Of course, I'm just NOW learning how to use it and add it into some original…

kick out the jams
G'day, Accidentally stumbled accross the intro to this song the other day when I was messing around on my guitar. Had a look at some tabs on the internet which seem to vary a fair bit, especially MC5 v RATM versions. Anyway, I decided I want to learn it properly, because it's a cracking song, and it's wicked fun to play…
