I think I finally figured out Modes.

Something that was so simple, but never explained in such a way.
I started by focusing on Dorian. A Dorian to be exact. Which is A B C D E F# G. So I drew a diagram of a fretboard, visualized all of it, marked down the notes. And damn, the G Major Scale was right there in front of me. I'll never know why I had such a hard time with it. Lack of a teacher or instructor might have been my problem.
Now, I gotta teach myself how to apply the Dorian mode properly, learn backwards and fowards before moving on...

I just now have to learn to apply it without making sound...scale-ish. And where to apply it. Do I play a B Dorian in an A-Em-G-D progression?
