Comfortably Numb solo
Which solo does David Gilmour use the pentatonic position #1 scale in? Is it solo #1 or #2? I really love the whole solo and am trying to get some melodic ideas? Thanks

Guaranteed - Picking Pattern
So I got the chords and all down, I just can't seem to get the finger-picking pattern right. Ed is obviously hitting the bass notes more frequently than I. Does anyone know what the true finger-picking pattern is that Ed's playing?

extension cab question
so..i have a harley benton ga5 combo (basically an epi valve junior 5 watt), it has an 8" speaker in it and its 4ohms can i connect this into another speaker cab to beef its sound up for possible use in a band?....would it just go as far as a 12" speaker? this bit about ohms always confuses me somehow? :(

carbon copy love
Wow. Picked one of these up with m123 sale ($119!) and it is awesome. Puts my dd3 to shame. I am floored as to how much more musical this analog delay is as compared to digital. Modulation has been referred to as subtle but being my first analog delay, I know no different. I bought it for 'I got id' and 'life wasted'.…

Starting to write my own material.........
I was curious how everyone on this board writes their own music or how bands do it. Do you come up with a riff first, the music or the lyrics or does it always change and depend on your mood? I'm starting to write my own material using my RC 20XL and it's going really well but I'm having a tough time with the lyrics. I…

Attention Singers
Any singers in the group? Question for those..... What do you do to train or warm up your voice? What excercises etc? I'm looking for some new methods. The tough part is i live in a nyc apartment so practicing or doing vocal training is very difficult. Not to mention a little embarrassing when the neighbors hear it!

Can't seem to find people with similar tastes in music as me and I am thinking of going solo. I think I have great creativity with words but one problem, I have a crap voice. I tend…

Headphones
My current living situation means that more often than not I can't play my guitar through my amp, or even my acoustic at any real volume. I've spent the last week or two playing "unplugged" which is tragically unsatisfying. I've decided to look into getting some headphones, but have noticed they get pretty exxy, and don't…

Hi there, I just wanted to share what I started doing a few weeks ago. I wanted a new bass (fender precision type) but I haven't the money to buy a new one. So I decided to do one, buying the different parts each time I have a bit of money to spend. I bought a bass body, a neck, a pickguard, etc. initially, the body was…

Best of which?
All right, I'm sure most of us have played a plethora of effects out there. My question/discussion is...Which pedal is the best at what it's supposed to do? Best Delay: Digital: I love my Digitech Digital Delay. It's got tons of options and it's not as expensive as some of the other digital delays. Analog: I've got less…

Jeremy
Yeah, it's probably my favorite PJ song because it go me started into the band. Anyway, has Jeff always used a 12, live? During the '03 shows, it sounds like a 4, and a 6 in the '00 shows. I've seen some shows from 2000 where he's got a 12 (and a beautiful bass it is).

Do It Yourself Vocal Effects?
Would there be any "electrical repercussions" to my equipment if I hooked up a mic to a boss pedal in order to achieve some cheapo vocal effects? For instance, tremolo? My intuition tells me yes.....hence the question. And any solid rules for "what not to hook to what" would be appreciated. Just so I dont have to ask in…

Building a Guitar
I've always thought this would be a cool thing to do. How would somebody go about it? How difficult is it? Is there a cost savings when you do it yourself? I'm thinking I might take a crack at it after I get married in January, that way I can research the proper way to do it. Any thoughts, suggestions, advice would be…

Look At The Deal On This 18-Watt Tube Amp!!
Click: Look At The Deal On This 18-Watt Tube Amp . . . $149.99 I couldn't pass this up - I just bought one tonight from Sam Ash (for the same price) - You have a hard time buying a solid state amp for this kind of money.
