Stone's Acoustic Tone (2000-2010)
Hey guys, many of you know I play Stone in the New Jersey based pearl jam tribute band, No Code (www.nocodejam.com) From 1992-2000, Stone favored the Hamer Duotone as his main "acoustic" guitar for songs like Daughter and the like. In 2000, (as evidenced by Daughter on TB2k dvd), you'll see that Stone is playing a Fender…

Recording set up
Used my Mackie 1202-VLZ3 with 1 Shure SM58, 2 EV cobalt mics and 1 Shure SM57. I had one EV cobalt at the 12th fret, the SM57 over top the body of the guitar and the other EV cobalt pointed dead center about 4 feet back. The SM58 had some overlap that required some mixing adjustment. I EQ'd the SM58 a bit warmer since I…

Covering Pearl Jam
I finally found some people (and time) to jam with since I moved to my town a year ago, and I'm putting together a list of songs to play - open mic nights, acoustic shows, etc. What Pearl jam songs have all of you covered? Which have you found to be very difficult to play out acoustic? Which work best? Any other thoughts?

Porch - before the final chorus
After they've done the big jam in the middle, they always go back to one big chord as they start to build to the chorus. Does anyone know what it is?

2008 Gear Answers
This thread was lost during the merge. It was a collective "Ask George" from a bunch of us on here...then forwarded to the 10C who were nice enough to forward to George Webb, the bands full time tech, who in turn answered as much as he could. 1. Is it possible to get a newly revised signal flow chart including rack…

I hate bar chords!
I'm an obvious newbie when it comes to guitar. I've been taking a class every weekend since November, but i still have sloppy strumming, choked chords, and I absolutely hate bar chords. They sound like ass whenevr i attempt them. I have a five-year plan with this class. If i can't play (not practice) the guitar within that…

Song Credits
I've got a question for the pit, I've been mulling over in my head. Basically it's this... are song credits important? I know PJ lists who wrote the song... but do most bands? Let me provide an example, I've been thinking through... Let's say this guy Joe is in a band and he's done most of the writing. He doesn't know the…
