Takamine neck reset.....any advice?
I have a Takamine G series acoustic that is in need of a neck reset. The guitar was bought brand new at Guitar Center in 2001. I took it to a well known repair shop in my area and they told me my best bet was to take it back to GC to see if Takamine will replace the guitar.....they have a lifetime warranty on structural…

Army Reserve main chord
Ok, I love that song but I think I have problems figuring out what specific chord Stone is playing (it's only one simple chord, the one that starts and ends the song, played over and over again).. the rest of the song is kinda simple to figure out, but this one chord.. damn.. I searched around for tabs but, as usual, they…

Tube Troubles...
So last week while a practice my tube amp (Fender Blues DeVille 410) started making a weird crackle noise. It would first only do it while I played my bass (svt4pro - 810 cab). Then it would crackle with just the guitar playing in the room. I shut the amp down for about an hour. Warmed it back up & then everything was back…

kind of a cool little amp...
the electro harmonix 22 caliber amp...not much to it but it sounds decent to me. i am anxious to see what it sounds like with a pedal or two in front of it though...it might make for a good backup amp if one of my marshalls blows up on me...knock on wood by the way... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV4SDTpOomQ

Drum microphones and settings on a mixing board
I got the Samson 8 Kit set of microphones to hook into a Behringer X2442USB mixing board, just for use as a monitor. The kick sound wasn't the best with the Samson Q Kick mic, so I researched and found that Karrie Keys who handles PJ's mics said the loves the Audix D6 kick mic. She wrote a quick review for the company and…

My new Taylor 716ce LTD with Imbuia
I am finishing up grad school and as a reward I had promised myself a new guitar upon completion (or close to completion) of my degree. I have one class left this fall. So, I decided to start shopping. Well, for some reason I just fell in love with the look of Imbuia I had seen on the spring limiteds from Taylor. I had…

Hey hey Just started a new weekly summer residency at a local sports bar. acoustic (mainly) duo stuff. I sing and play rhythm and one of my guitar teachers plays lead, sings backup. Its a "...and friends" night, so we bring up special guests and make it real fun. Played our first one this week and it went well. Pj related…

Learning Guitar // Music Theory
So I have picked up the guitar and am trying to teach myself. I'm not very good, yet. But am hoping to practice 1-3 hours everyday until i become good enough to mess around, have fun, and sing songs by the campfire. This is where my question comes: Do I need to know the Music theory behind the guitar? Why this chord and…

All Along the Watch Tower chords - PJ version
Question: Are the chords Am, Em, and F? I was fooling around the guitar and trying to figure out what the chords were. Are these correct?

anyone use a jamman solo yet?
I'm thinking of trying to implement a looping pedal into my live rig. Mainly for use in live on the fly situations. Being able to loop a rhythm part then instantly solo over it. The jamman solo looks cool (jamman stereo even better). But everyone I see using one is doing that big loopy looping stuff. I just want simple…

new amp suggestions...
Ok, so I am in the market for a new amp over the next few months. I've currently got a VOX AC30ccx2 with the celestion blues, and an Orange AD30TC. I got the bug a few weeks ago while playing a Bad Cat Hot cat 30, and then a Divided by 13 37. Both were used, and really good deals, but I passed since I haven't really been…
