What type of guitar did Ed use during "Man of the Hour" on the solo tour? It was fairly small and had a much higher pitch than a normal acoustic.

could have been some kind of parlor model. Occasionally they are tuned differently as well.

I know Tacoma uses Nashville A tuning.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

He was still playing the same open chords that he would on a normal guitar though.

yeah it's just a higher string tension higher pitch. Everything plays the same.

I believe you use the octave strings from a 12 string guitar something like that. I'm not certain about all that though. Probably was a parlor guitar though.

  • Awesome. I'm going to look into it. I love the sound.
  • First of all, I have no idea.

But I've seen Keith Urban use a smaller scale acoustic before:

If anyone does know what that is, help a brotha out :)

I can't check the youtube link, but he uses the same as one of my guitars.
It's a mini maton EMD6. They are kickass.

    Here's a picture.
