Travelling Rigs.
At the moment I'm pondering what to build for a no amp travel rig that I can mount to a pedalboard. I've got a small 8 channel mixer I was going to mount on a pedaltrain board with a hard case. When I want I can hook that up to a Mackie Thump powered monitor and sing through it or what have you. I was going to use one of…

Teal Gibson SG
Hey all- So I've been drooling over Ed's old teal flip flop SG for a couple years now, and I've finally decided that I want to buy an SG and probably put P90s in it, as I believe he did. However, as most of you know, that color isn't available anymore and I don't want the standard maroon, brown, or black SG. Anyone have…

Drum storage question
Is it safe to stack and entire set of drums (bass drum, snare, and 3 toms) vertically? My concern is not them getting scratched, cause I have some towels between them. My worry is that they would all be all stacked on the bass drum head, so the weight of the snare and toms would all be on one bass drum head. Stacking them…

Has anyone tried the Boss PS-6?
Just stumbled across the new PS-6 on youtube. Not that I would ever really need such a pedal, but it seems like it could be an interesting and versatile effect and it seems like it sounds pretty good. And I think, even if you have to get an expression pedal, it's still cheaper than a whammy. I wonder it it's tracking is…

Shannon Od
Just received my Shannon Overdrive pedal on Monday from Telesonic. I know so much good stuff has already been said about this pedal, but I'm gonna praise it some more. This pedal rocks! The minute I plugged it into my chain and turned it on I was able to get a gorgeous, smooth breakup. Turn up the gain and you get some…

Ritual
Anybody have any "rituals" before shows? I know that I have chicken soup and sometimes wine. I also listen to music that inspires me to play when driving to the venue. Sometimes it's hard to take myself to a state of mind where I just gotta let everything out so the music helps. Also, as "madaonna-ish" as it sounds, I plan…

Stolen Gear
I played a wedding on Friday and came home. Left my gear in my truck, thinking I had locked it. I don't live in a bad neighborhood or anything. I was unloading my truck and my buddy's truck only to discover that two of my acoustics, my SG, and my bass were missing. I'm not thinking any of my friends are trying to play a…

I have a Takamine G series acoustic that is in need of a neck reset. The guitar was bought brand new at Guitar Center in 2001. Army Reserve main chord
Ok, I love that song but I think I have problems figuring out what specific chord Stone is playing (it's only one simple chord, the one that starts and ends the song, played over and over again).. the rest of the song is kinda simple to figure out, but this one chord.. damn.. I searched around for tabs but, as usual, they…

Tube Troubles...
So last week while a practice my tube amp (Fender Blues DeVille 410) started making a weird crackle noise. It would first only do it while I played my bass (svt4pro - 810 cab). Then it would crackle with just the guitar playing in the room. I shut the amp down for about an hour. Warmed it back up & then everything was back…

kind of a cool little amp...
the electro harmonix 22 caliber amp...not much to it but it sounds decent to me. i am anxious to see what it sounds like with a pedal or two in front of it though...it might make for a good backup amp if one of my marshalls blows up on me...knock on wood by the way... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV4SDTpOomQ

Drum microphones and settings on a mixing board
I got the Samson 8 Kit set of microphones to hook into a Behringer X2442USB mixing board, just for use as a monitor. The kick sound wasn't the best with the Samson Q Kick mic, so I researched and found that Karrie Keys who handles PJ's mics said the loves the Audix D6 kick mic. She wrote a quick review for the company and…
