Acoustic Guitar Amplifer
Hi there! I'm on the market for an acoustic guitar amplifier, and I figured I'd reach out to the community I trust most. My guitar's a Gibson J-45 PureVoice Custom with a Trance Audio Amulet M (dual mono - one output is for mids and highs, and the other is dedicated specifically to the E and A strings), and I typically…

Have you played any of these? Got a review/opinion on them?
I've got a ton of pedals but I don't have many other opinions on them/ways other people use them. I'll just list them )with the exception of the major moded pedals) and if you've got a review/cool settings, feel free to share. Also, feel free to add any of your pedals to the list so others can give their thoughts! Digitech…

Boutique vs. uhhh...other pedals
I keep hearing and reading so many great things about boutique pedals and, in the same breath, many negative things about the others (BOSS, Ibanez, etc). Not that I dislike boutique pedals but I just don't have the money or play enough to justify getting them. As many of you know, I've got a lot of pedals...and they're not…

Why has Ed switched to SGs?
I play guitar but I'm pretty ignorant of the technical side of things, so I was wondering... I was just watching YouTube videos of the Amsterdam shows and noticed Ed's playing Gibson SGs instead of his usual Telecasters. I know he flirted with SGs on the 1998 & 2003 tours too. Any speculation as to why he might make the…

Switching from Guitar to Bass - help
I somewhat play guitar. Not very often and not well, but I do pick it up occasionally to mess around. I know the basics and a couple songs. My friend approached me, he needs a bass player. Anyone have experience switching from guitar to bass? I'm gonna be borrowing his bass over the weekend to mess around with and to see…

Favorite mike mccready tone era?
IMO mikes tone shines best in his earliest days. Think ten- no code. For whatever reason I noticed on a lot of bootlegs he tended to switch from distortion to that weird drippy watery rotovibe tone (I think that's what it is). For example, yellow ledbetter at Madison square '03 during the solo instead of that amazing…

Vinyl cleaning advice
Hi, I have unearthed some old vinyl and also bought a couple of holiday singles that I was missing that are all pretty crackly when played. I have cleaned them all with a carbon fibre brush and then used a vinyl cleaning fluid but some are still noisy (and not in the way I would like!). Does anyone have any good tips? I've…

Excellent deal on some Definitive Technology loud speakers
If you are in the market for some new fronts, New Egg has a ridiculous deal. The Def Tech BP8b loudspeakers are on sale for 199 each with free shipping. These are classic speakers that were discontinued last year, but speaker technology doesn't change much over the years. Can you get better speakers, but no where in the…

Fender pick-ups
Hey everyone: I got a sweet Fender Classic Series 60's strat recently; love the guitar but not in love with the pick-ups. I am trying to recreate Mike's tone/sound. Has anyone tried the fender noiseless pickups or the Custom '69's? Trying to figure out what would be best. Thanks!!!

all female PJ cover band called.....
I got asked to be Edie Vetteir in a women's PJ cover band. The gal running it (drummer phenom ..recorded since she was just 7 and she's 42 now), tells me : We aren't Viganology. That's a different one. Okay, now I am definitely joining. What would YOU call an all woman-pj cover band? They already have a name ... (seattle's…
