Hey folks,

I've been extremely quiet in the forums for some time now, better part of the last 8 years, so much so that when the forum switched I have about a dozen posts, I can't even remember what my handle was pre 2006?

Anyhow, a few weeks ago I came across this on KickStarter.org

http://www.uturnaudio.com/

I actually went in on the Kick Starter and will be seeing my model come sometime in May/June I suppose or hope. Just thought any vinyl freaks would be interested.

Respectfully,

PB

  • Cheers for the heads up on this man. Looks pretty promising. Perfect for a someone like me new to the whole vinyl thing. Where do you order one anyway? I cant see where you pledge. Or do you have to sign up to kickstarter?

Sorry, as out and about this weekend. The Kickstarter campaign is complete, I feel like I read they either tripled or quadrupled their original funding goal. So their next step is to get the bulk raw materials to begin making the the players in mass. The first orders that they are fulfilling are from the Kickstarter campaign. It will likely be sometime in the May-July time frame when they begin taking orders. My guess is they want to get the first set of manufactured players out there and then begin to take on additional orders.

All I can say is, if you can wait, I would suggest waiting. I have looked at record players in the past. Current one is in bad shape and a solid player is quite expensive. The low end model on this is what I paid for my pretty crappy generic player. I went with the platter and cartridge upgrade for this as I am making this a "last purchase" don't want to buy another player, just replace parts if need be.
