Sam Roberts Band
I can't wait for the new album in a couple of weeks, I seen them live a couple of weekends ago and it was the best show i've seen by them ever. They played some new stuff and it sounded amazing. Best Canadian band at the moment in my opinion. What are other's opinions? I'm not sure how popular they are south of the border.

Green Day + Smashing Pumpkins Tour next Summer 2024
Green Day played a surprise show in Vegas last night. During the show it was announced that Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins will be doing a stadium tour next summer. Rancid will be joining them as well. Smashing Pumpkins are already scheduled for a few shows in Europe with Weezer in June so I'm assuming the US Stadium tour…

Deer Tick - where to start?
So I've been a fan of Delta Spirit for a while now and Middle Brother has prompted me to check out Deer Tick. Really digging it and was wondering what I should start with if I purchase an album or two. Also interested to hear about the other Middle Brother member's band...is it Dawes??? Cheers :D

Great records you recently rediscovered in your collection.
Do you ever have this happen? You come across a record you forgot you had or something you haven't listened to in so long you can't remember what it sounds like, and when you give it a spin you are amazed at how great it is and are glad you rediscovered it. Just last night, I rediscovered Sam Rivers' Crystals in my LP…

Rolling Stones
Fkn loving the Rolling Stones right now... Always knew the basic hitters, but like all music I like to dig deeper in albums and find those songs forgot about. Some Girls (deluxe edition) has to be one of the best. Exile (deluxe) is good shit as well... I think I almost have every album (70's era)

The Boxer Rebellion
This band was the free track of the week on iTunes Canada a while back. Well, I just happened to listen to it yesterday, and I dug it, so I checked out their website. And for a limited time, they have their debut EP up for free download. Yes, you have to sign up to their mailing list. But that's it. If you like Kings of…

The best album you own that almost no one has heard
This is sort of a companion to my post about the worst album I physically own. Proceeding through the Ms (see OP in "worst album" thread for further explanation if needed)-- today was Mad Season's Above-- tomorrow I will get to the album It's My Last Night by the band Maple, from 1995. I absolutely love this album but I…

Shipping records from Australia
Just wondered if anyone here ships records from Australia to the UK regularly and how much it costs just for a single LP by airmail. Ignoring any fees at this end. Also Im looking for a record that is only available in Australia so looking to set up a trade with someone. If anyone is in Australia and looking for something…

The Mats Tim ‘Let It Bleed’ reissue
Damn. The remix is so in your face! The bass and drums are so present, love how much reverb was taken off. Anyone else listen to it yet?

Silverchair finished....
From Silverchair's F/book page- sad news.. We formed Silverchair nearly 20 years ago when we were just 12 years old. Today we stand by the same rules now as we did back then ... if the band stops being fun and if it's no longer fulfilling creatively, then we need to stop. Therefore after much soul searching we wanted to…

LiveNation doing something "nice" for smaller bands
Club Acts Won't Have to Fork Over Merch Money to Live Nation Anymore (msn.com) I wonder if LN will raise ticket prices to make up for the lost merch revenue?

Silverchair at Lolla
This will probably get moved but. . .did anyone see Silverchair's set at Lolla? I have been following these guys since they came out and think they just keep getting better and better, but they almost never play the states. I was just wondering people's opinion on their set.

Grant Lee Buffalo!

Recordcovers having shiny/metallic/reflective paper
Anyone have any good examples of albums being printed on metallic foil stock? So the photo/art is being a bit reflective and having a metallic sheen. Not looking for e.g. KISS Double Platinum that is just a silver mirror (mylar) cover. Here are two examples (not that noticeable in the pictures). Anyone know of any else? I…

The Coral
Band from the UK that's been around for about 20 years or so. I only really got into them about 5-10 years ago. Their last album from '16,, Distance InBetween was fantastic. And they have a new album coming out in the summer called Move Through the Dawn. Would love to see them tour unfortunately they rarely tour the US…

Vinyl editions with hard cover book?
Do you know of or own any vinyl editions with a hardcover book included? And are there any examples on packaging for this (LP+hardcover book), that is not everything just lying in a big shoebox? The TEN and VS/Vitalogy deluxe boxes are kind of nifty, but they are not just an LP and a hardcover book.

The Wonder Stuff

Dave Matthews Band
Any Dave Matthews Band fans here?? Have any of you gone to see Dave at the Gorge before?? How does it compare to PJ? I wanted to go this year but since Pearl Jam is going I will only have enough time for Pearl Jam. Since DMB plays the Gorge every year, I might go next year if I'm lucky.
