I'm going to DM's concert in Atlanta on September 1st. Have any of you been to one of their shows yet on this tour (or planning on going)? I just snagged a cheap lawn ticket from Live Nation for only $10.00 with no service fees!

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but I wonder how long Livenation can continue operating if they resort to selling so many tickets for next to nothing.

Well, I am a huge Depeche Mode fan, they are the #2 greatest band to me ...Seen them a zillion times, this year twice so far but seeing them again two more times in Budapest and Barcelona...If you ak me they rocked (in spite of the fact Dave Gahan was just out of the hospital, the shows were even more spectacular than before and Dave can still sing those hard notes!
And those Martin solo moments were still the highlights for me!

Have fun, I am sure you'll like them!

Live Nation just moved the prices down for their lawn tickets for this show. The previous cost was $30.00, but evidently they are a long way from selling out this particular show and have decided to drastically lower the lawn tickets. I'm glad that I held off until today to buy one; I saved myself at least $20.00.

From everything I've read in Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, etc., ticket sales for concerts are really struggling across the country. I went to Green Day's show in New Orleans three weekends ago and nearly the entire upper bowl of the New Orleans Arena was empty (and Green Day is as hot as any band right now).

I also have tickets for Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar's new band) this Sunday at The Tabernacle in Atlanta (a pretty small venue) and that show is still not a sellout as of this morning.

I've been a big fan of Depeche Mode since I was in junior high back in the dark ages of the 1980s! I bet it will be a great show.

It's great that there's a thread about Depeche Mode here in the PJ forum. :)

There are some good news in relation to the next album and tour of the band. So, at least 8 brand-spanking-new tracks demoed at last count... which is a few weeks ago and new Depeche Mode tour will be announced within 9 months, early 3rd quarter most likely. Expect a lot more DM news in the coming month. It looks like it's gonna be pretty full on for all of 2012 and 2013. I've been told that Mr. Alan Wilder won't be the producer of the next album and there will be not a reunion. I hope that the new album will be better than the "Sounds Of The Universe".

Seen them a couple of times in the UK - they never disapoint. After PJ, some of my fave song lyrics are by DM:

"words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm"

    and

"let me hear you make descissions, without your televisions"

Agree with you guys, they are some of my favourite too. There are too many amazing song lyrics written by Mr. Martin L. Gore, one of the greatest songwriters of all time in my opinion.

Saw them 6 times during their last "Tour OF The Universe" in different European cities and every concert was a unique experience. Wish they could change the setlist more often and play songs that have been not performed for a long time like "Rush", "Black Celebration", "Sacred", "Here Is The House" or b-sides. :)

I wish Dave would actually sing Enjoy the Silence, he lets the crowd sing about 80% now a days, i'm not there to watch him be a cheerleader but to perform.

    oh, yeah!
But I (and even the music of the band) still miss the genius of Alan!
and btw I do agree with everything in your previous post, but the quoted one needed to be emphasised appropriately!

I believe DM will do shows in North / South America in August or September 2013 like they did in 2009. ;) The guys will follow the same tour schedule like the previous tour. I alredy got tickets for my home city Sofia (Bulgaria) :D , Belgrade in Serbia and Prague (all for front of stage of course :) ) and maybe will get for Paris for the first stadium leg of the tour. Also I'm looking forward for the winter European leg 2013/2014 when they add dates in Spain.

The new album will be out in April 2013 and will be 12 tracks, 3 of them written by Dave and Kurt. The remaining recorded songs (about 6) will go on a special format of the album. The band will be heading to Louisiana in acouple of weeks to shoot footage for the show with Anton Corbijn. Flood will be mixing the record in London over the coming month. The band finished recording it on Oct 19 2012.

And yes, the new song is stunning! :)

Today leaked two new DM songs - "Heaven" and "All that's mine". Premiere Their new single is announced on Friday...
Heaven seems to be rather a rock ballad... (and I love it!)
All that's mine is typically electronic song.

I'm in Heaven and love that band! ;) Both new songs are awesome! I like the Owlle remix of Heaven as well, sounds cool especially to be played at a party. The boys look so old now.
    Still, I enjoyed it.

Did they add a drummer for this song ?
'After Alan Wilder left in 1995 i thought they were primarily a trio.

Oh and I am really digging Gahans skull ring.
