we usually go to lyric studios but they are "between engineers" right now.........can anyone recommend another studio, or even someone who is into recording that can make a good quality demo in their basement?

So I finaly got a tube amp...
Its a fender blues jr, and it sounds great clean with just the guitar, but when I try to run it with a Big Muff and SD-9, it doesn't distort at all. Question from an electronics simpleton
I've an old pedal and the live socket is the output. In other words, the LED goes on when the output lead is plugged in from the pedal to the DI, etc. Would that make a difference to polarity if I wanted to do away with batteries and buy a 9v adaptor? How to overdrive pre-amp?
Forgive me for my stupidity, but I recently bought a Blues jr., and am still getting use to all thie controls (most notably using the Master and Volume knobs effectively) I know the volume knob adjusts the pre-amp gain, but when people say to overdrive the pre-amp for good sounds, what exactly does this entail?
