I didn't know Jimi Hendrix played a Les Paul.....
I was looking through a Hard Rock Cafe book the other day and they had about 5 pages just on Hendrix and obviously we all know he was known for playing a Strat but I didn't know that he played a Les Paul occassionally. Is this common knowledge? Maybe I should have known!

anybody ever play a Carvin V3 amp?
in about 6 months, I am looking for a more versatile tube amp, something good for metal, classic rock, grunge, blues whatever. something a'la Marshall without the Marshall pricetag. so I ran up on this amp. seems loaded, it's got 2 OD channels, 1 clean channel, all with their own EQs, and it's got master controls and…

Help with Tubescreamer...
So today I went out and bought the TS9, even though I already own a Blues Driver, because I figured they could do some different things and whatnot. I've been jamming all afternoon, and the TS9 is great, I'm just struggling to find its place with the blues driver, finding differences. I guess I'm having a bit of buyers…

Richie Sambora
I saw a youtube video yesterday on Richie Sambora talking about his different guitars and playing a few licks. That guy can really play. Too bad Bon Jovi is all soft now. They would be a lot better if Richie just did his thing. I never noticed how talented he actually is until I saw that video.

Damaged Guitar :(
Ouch. I saw this up for sale on ebay. It's Mike's Les Paul that he smashed at Reading. Even if i had more money that i could ever spend, and a bunch of guitars, i don't think i could ever treat any of my guitars so badly. Not being critical of Mike, it's was his to do as he liked with it, just i couldn't bring myself to…

Finally...
got around to ordering "The Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar" by Jamie Andreas.... read a couple of threads a while back on here that mentioned how great it was, so hopefully this will give me a kick in the butt and make my practice time more productive. Figured this was my best option, as can't really take…

Need help for a very, very clean tone
I have the YCV 50 Blue Traynor tube amp and I was wondering if anybody here has any advice on how to get a very clean and crisp sound out of the amp. Almost like an acoustic sound without buying the Boss AC 3. I messed around with the EQ's but I couldn't get the sound I was looking for. I am playing a Les Paul Studio so…

Pedal to boost bass?
So, I have a Marhshall Valvestate 8080 (1st generation), and it's actually a very nice amp despite what people say although it has very poor bass, and too much treble. I was thinking about getting a Bad Monkey to boost the bass on it, as I hear they can do this very well. However I hear EHX LPB-1's are good too, and I've…

So I finaly got a tube amp...
Its a fender blues jr, and it sounds great clean with just the guitar, but when I try to run it with a Big Muff and SD-9, it doesn't distort at all. The latter sounds more like a boost and Muff sounds all..."broken". My TS9DX sounds whimpered out compared to what it sounded like on my SS amp! Do I need a change of tubes? I…

Dave Matthews............
Has to be one of the most under rated guitar players ever. He is an incredible rhythm player but rarely do we hear about him. Everyone is always hyped up about the lead players but how about the rhythm players. Stone is an awesome guitar player as well but most people who don't know Pearl Jam like we do always talk about…

Tips on starting a Band........
I would really like to play in a band, but I find the hardest thing is finding the right people. Everybody's schedule is so different, people have different taste in music and it's not like playing on a hockey team where if 3 or 4 guys don't show up you can still play but in a band if 1 guy doesn't show up you can't play.…
