Same Song Title, Different Band/Artist: "Creep”
Happy Friday! This week I am putting up "Creep" as the song title with a handful of different versions. I'm going to keep this list mainstream, so please feel free to bring up other versions that are not listed below. I'm all for hearing new music. Ironically, each of the versions below came out one year after the other.…

Alice in Chains 2018 Tour
Kicked off last night at the HOB in Boston. Say what you will about the band post Layne, these guys can still bring it!!! Place was packed, great crowd. They may not play 3 hour, 30+ song shows like some bands, but a nice spaced out set list. Seen them 3x with Layne, 3x without, still a solid live band. Looking forward to…

Calexico and Iron & Wine - Years To Burn (June 14th)
New Calexico / Iron & Wine collaboration album coming out on June 14th. I loved "In The Reins" and I'm super excited about this! https://youtu.be/ypj9iN73ONY Calexico and Iron & Wine first made an artistic connection with In the Reins, the 2005 EP that brought Sam Beam, Joey Burns and John Convertino together. The…

Vinyl _____ Show your best/worst sounding!
The 'I just picked up on vinyl' thread is really great, it's so good for seeing what's out there and seeing what many other's manage to get their hands on. But, I thought I'd start another thread, unrelated to that one... This topic is for anyone that's interested in posting records they have in their collection's that…

Is this vinyl player good?
So the ON-OFF stick is broken off, so my dad gave it to me. Is it a common/good player (Pioneer PL-510)? Worth trying to find a new "stick"..? (Is that even possible?) I also think the arm doesn't go back automatically at the end of playing a side. Should I just buy a brand new vinyl player instead?

Check out Sturgil Simpson
He is badass! If any of you guys even remotely like country start with his album Metamodern Sounds In Country Music. If you can't stand country music then start with his latest album, A Sailor's Guide To Earth, and specifically songs Breakers Roar, Sea Stories, In Bloom and Brace For Impact (Live A Little). I saw him this…

Any Fusion fans?
Also know as just "Jazz Fusion". I tend to say "Jazz/Rock Fusion" or "Rock/Jazz Fusion" since those two genres are what is being fused, but for now I'll just call it "Fusion". So anyway, I thought it would be cool to hear from any fusion fans here. My favorite fusion artist is Larry Coryell and I finally replaced an old…

The man who coined the word "cool".
AND, among others, the phrase "I paid my dues". And that man, one of the great gods of jazz, is the one and only Lester "Prez" Young. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rCSTY917sk Now that is cool!

How's Your Luck Been in the Used Bins Lately?
Got this thread idea from another forum, but I thought this would be a nice place to see what everyone is finding at their local shops. I have been more into CDs lately, looking for early pressings of my favorite albums. Used Bin vinyl can be so hit and miss, and with the "Cool" mark-up used vinyl is now getting, it pushes…

Roky Erickson: Another legend gone.
