Dead and Co,

Anyone seen these guys live? Just wondering what to expect at Bonnaroo. I have always wanted to see the Dead live in any form or fashion and have HIGH hopes for them to blow me away at Bonnaroo this year

I've got GA for their show at Citi Field, and I'm really hoping the same! I must say - John Mayer is the perfect choice for Jerry 2.0. The guy has serious chops. While he'll never be Jerry, what I've heard shows his commitment to producing a bluesy Dead.

Yep the jams seem slowed down a bit but sound fantastic. His style is perfect for dead. Much better than trey imo

We are going to Hartford this summer, really looking forward to it! Missed Worcester in the fall and still regret that.

The songs and jams are slowed down a bit, but hey, they're all super old now, and Bobby likes it slow. Fare Thee Well, which was an awesome experience, was slowed down too, and they didn't rehearse very much at all. I still wish they had have, for Trey's potential/the band's sake.

And any Dead is going to be especially slow in comparison to JRAD, which is Dead on speed, and amazing!

Having seen The Dead, Furthur, Fare Thee Well, and soon to be Dead & Co., I'll have to rank them eventually.

    Bonnaroo should be a blast!

The further lineup with John kadlichek from dark star orchestra was the best imo.. Mayer sounds great as well. I love the slower bluesy jams with Mayer.

saw 4 shows last year. i was a big mayer fan before and am more of a mayer fan now. he takes it there without being a copykat and it's great being surrounded by that many people who get it ;)

I enjoyed the Albany show last year and that was the first gig....they have gotten tighter since then. I do wish they picked up the pace some, but with Bobby in there as said above, it's expected to be slow
Probably grab a cheap Hartford lawn come showtime

Wow. Just wow. What a show last night at Citifield. John Mayer is a magician. Check out Throwing Stones (or just about anything to be honest) if/when it's up on YouTube. This is what he should always be doing. Hope he moves in this direction with his own stuff or whatever grouping he decides to do (though his trio is killer too).

If you're on the fence about going to see them, do it. They were all so happy. I'm sure Bob Weir is thrilled to be pumping new life into the music and John and Oteill are thrilled for the opportunity. I don't know who was having more fun - them or us.

Brilliant over 3 hours of music (4 hours from start to finish with a 45 min break bw sets). Show of the summer.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Similar feelings on last night's show. I go to tons of dead related shows and this has been much better than the standard of late. Go check this band out.

I have my Dead show in less than a month. Holy crap, some of these set lists are incredible. Never know what they're gonna pull out each night. Wasn't sure about Mayer at first, but after seeing some vids, I am truly impressed. Very excited!

My dad and I were a few people away from John Mayer and Jesus. Absolutely blown away. Wishing we could be at tonight's show too!!

Man, I thought the Citi show on Saturday was incredible. Never saw the Dead play so didn't really know what to expect but I had a blast. Crowd was so into it and songs sounded really tight. Would love to find a way to hit one more.

Not sure which to download from nugs! All I can say is that there are definitely some kick ass torrents sites that could help you out for many of the shows :)

The summer tour kicked off last night in Las Vegas. I'm watching a live stream of Phoenix right now, & seeing them this weekend at Shoreline. I was lucky enough to catch a show last summer, & it was phenomenal. Anyone else gone/going to see them this time around?

John has chops (arguably can use more notes per time than Jerry), but all the Dead-esque phrasings that he's using with Dead and Company are signature Jerry Garcia. He's definitely a great substitute in Jerry's absence, but he isn't Jerry.

Mannnn they delivered the goods last night. They're getting better and better every tour and firing on all cylinders right now. John Mayer is a bad man on guitar...no doubt about that. I wanna see them again tonight.
