Can anyone recommend a few Tom Petty albums to properly "start me off". I own the greatest hits and mojo and after watching the Runnin Down A Dream Doc on TV the other night I'm ridiculously curious and eager to dip my toe a little further into his music I'm positive I'm going to buy Full Moon Fever coz that seems to have…

The idea of “pre-saving” new albums
I think one of the funnier things in the modern music industry is the idea of the “pre-save” option for songs/albums on streaming platforms. Is there any benefit at all to the consumer with this ability? I’m sure it’s very valuable for labels and management teams to gauge interest, but is that it?

Beck to the Future
Anybody into Beck here? Ok, let’s talk about the fact that he keeps getting better! I mean honestly if someone said to me you can only have ‘00s Beck or ‘90s Beck, but not both…I think I’d go with the ‘00s Beck. All the lps are great. But 2002 – present is just as solid, if not better than his '90s output. (To me that’s…

Fuck the World...NIN IS BACK!!!!
THANK YOU TRENT! NOTE FROM TRENT: Nine Inch Nails are touring this year. I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of…

Billy Howerdell - What Normal Was
So Billy (of A Perfect Circle) has a new solo record that came out last week. Wow! the 80s vibe on this is incredible. I feel like I'm back in 1987. Really a great album. I had never listened to his other solo project Ashes Divide and gave a few of those songs a listen and it's pretty different than this record. He's got…

Ryan Adams Streaming New Albums
Apparently Ryan Adams has decide to stream material from 8 new albums at his website http://www.ryan-adams.com. Yes, I said he's posted EIGHT new albums online. This guy is ridiculous in his productivity. I got this info from Rolling Stone.

Valerie June
A new artist out of Nashville whose debut album, Pushin Against a Stone was produced by Dan Auerbach. Really solid sounding album. Check it out. Here's a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApMbubTINnU

Richard Thompson
Has anyone heard the song Vincent Black Lightning 1952? My friend's dad played it on the acoustic guitar at our wedding shower 3 years ago...I just now found it on iTunes. Damn, I love that song. I don't know much about the artist, but the song is great. PBM

Selling a single in sec 203 r 1. Cost was $200 with fees. It’s on stub hub for $139 plus fees but for private sale here $125 would do. DM me if interested. It’s a mobile ticket easy to transfer.

Slow Phase - Richard Stuverud
I just listened to our Oakland hero’s album, Slow Phase. I assume he sings and drums? Regardless, it’s a really cool and fun album. It’s on Spotify (other platforms too presumably). https://open.spotify.com/artist/4ixKm1FD3oe1erYftg08dR?si=L_L2_-cjQken6Cf53QQ6pA

Neil and Tim Finn
These two are the most talented musicians I have ever seen live. They have such a legacy w/Split Endz and Crowded House. I know I heard Eddie say that b/c of Neil, he knew he wanted to be a songwriter. :) The 7 World's Collide dvd/cd, truly shows their music catalogue, performing w/other musicians who admired them. I have…

Upgrading Tickets (A Largely Positive Ticketmaster Business Practice?)
I had heard of this before but never tried it myself. I pass it along because it was quick, painless and it worked. We bought tickets to the Dead and Company show at Gillette when they went on sale several weeks ago. I didn't want to break the bank so I got a pair of aisle seats in the 300's and was happy with them. Fast…

Blind Melon - from Shannon to You and You and You and You
Any Blind Melon fans in the house? “About five years ago someone from California sent me about 20 CDs with Blind Melon music. I had not listened to any of those until recently. When I ran across this CD I felt that I had found a treasure to be shared with all the people who love Shannon. After thinking about it for days, I…
