17+ age restriction at shows?? (Glen Hansard/Swell Season in Chicago)
My wife can no longer accompany me to the Glen Hansard/Swell Season show in Chicago next week (memorial service). I'd like to bring my 12 yo daughter. However, the Ticketmaster details on the TM website say it's 17+. Does this mean that 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult (like an R-rated movie), or will they…

The Boss and E-Street
Got a chance to see them at Wrigley 2 for the first time, damn they are amazing. The fact Bruce can bring it 2 plus hours with virtually no break, no talking, and singing his ass off anthem aftet anthem was damn incredible to finally witness. An amazingly talented band that just shuts up and sings. If you have a chance…

I’ve bought several limited edition color vinyl releases from them over the years but this past Monday I got one that was damaged. I emailed them and they responded within a few hours. My replacement vinyl was received today. Their Twitter account responded to my tweet literally within minutes. I’m blown away at the level…

Made In America Festival
Suppose to announce the line-up tomorrow at noon. Could be interesting. Don't think i'll be going this year unless they get Pearl Jam again (or a band that I really have to see)

We're born to sing.
We've talked about singers on some threads here lately and it got me to thinking... Unless truly incapable, I really do think we are all born to sing. I think it's mildly unfortunate that some people don't sing because the think they can't. As far as I can recall, I don't know that I've met anyone who can talk who can't…

What do you most often listen for in a vocalist?
Obviously most of us will say a combination of these choices, but which is the one that, generally, is of the highest priority for you. Just having fun here- there are no "right" answers!

Discogs Random Item Game
I love Discogs and I know there are some members on here that use it regularly. So Discogs has the 'random item' link that gives you a random item out of your collection. The link is located next to the search box when you click 'Collection'. I sometimes use the link to give myself something to listen to when I can't make…

What Was Your First Concert?
Mine was the J. Geils Band in Los Angeles in 1980 (before they hit it big on MTV). I was 14 and took the bus both ways. It wasn't until later in the year that we were able to get friends' parents to drive us to shows!

Blur
Since Blur had their mini reunion I've revisited them. goddam, I completely forgot how great they were. My older sister was a huge fan so I grew up listening to them a lot and I'm glad I did. During the Britpop years they released album after album of great material. Brilliant pop songs with interesting lyrics, not to…
