My favorite record store guy could not get me a copy of the RSD re-issue of Mission of Burma's Peking Spring but I lucked out and found a TAANG! Records re-issue at a very reasonable price on Discogs.  Super happy to have this!

By the way, I paid for this less than a week ago and already flippers are jacking the price of this up double what I paid for it.  This is bogus B.S. and one of the big reasons I hate, hate, hate the whole scamming aspect of RSD.  If a records runs out and there's only one pressing, the scalper bullshit artist flippers are the ones who win, not the music fan.

    End of rant.

I used these when moving: https://roughtrade.com/us/accessories/lp-crate

And I still use one for storage. since I've run out of shelving.

The others are in the basement, waiting to be put to good use again.

There's also very solid boxes that are used to store legal or accounting papers.  They should be tall enough to store vertically,  which is ideal if for a period of time.

A few recent pickups. The Richard Marx was an ironic purchase for only $1 and my buddy found the PJ Palladium boot on a recent trip to Toronto. Also super pumped to have that Poe album on vinyl. It’s a tremendous album and one I feared had been lost a bit to time. Glad to see someone was wise enough to get a pressing out.

Which color did you get? I wanted a plain black vinyl,  but the only place that got copies in by me were the translucent blue vinyl, and it had a ton of static and pops. I am still working on cleaning it, and it's improved significantly, but not as good as a new lp should

Haunted on vinyl? Album and the book that goes with it are great, where did you find that? I had no idea they were pressing it.

It's an exclusive to Books-A-Million (technically for RSD this year, which is kinda weird). I just happened upon it via a comment on Reddit. Immediately logged on and ordered it since there are no locations anywhere near me. Should still have plenty in stock.

A cool find on eBay- Albert Ayler Quintet at Slug's Saloon, May 1, 1966.  Not a great pressing but decent enough.  I have a lot of Ayler's stuff and this one is super intense, even for Albert.  Ayler and band is at their peak in terms of either inspiration or desperation, I'm sure which.

AllMusic's reviews nailed it regarding "Bells" from the first of the two LP's in this set:

"The end of the world has already come and the dead are being mourned. The one phrase is repeated over and again, changed little by little, until at five minutes it is a song of joy. And at nine minutes it's a free jazz blowout that is so thunderous there are dropouts in the mikes. By 16 minutes the cover has melted from your skull and the sun is shining from within and without and you have been transformed forever. Yeah, you need this that bad...what are you waiting for?"

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
