    No one suggested that there aren't responsible gun owners. No one suggested doing away with guns.

    And "punishing" is a ridiculous word to use. Not being able to buy an automatic assault rifle is not punishment. Get over it.

    Yeah...I have a gun. I can still stroll through nature and have a camp fire without one. Especially one that is capable of mowing down multiple unarmed civilians.

    I literally just said I have no problem banning assault rifles and bump stocks.  lol.  And yes, someone has absolutely mentioned banning guns in the past, and have insinuated gun owners cannot be responsible.

    That is fine, my nature may be different.  Bear have pulled birdfeeders off the house. My neighbor has free range chickens and domestic turkey, which can draw predators.  And they spend most of their time in my yard because the neighbor doesn't really seem to mow much, and it's easier to eat with a mowed lawn.  And no, I don't always have my gun, only if it's night time and/or I go far away from residences.

    Perhaps. Hunting (not for me), target/skeet shooting, home defense, or protecting yourself (or livestock) from a wild animal are all acceptable and indicate responsible gun usage.  Some people may argue against hunting.

    There were 577 calls reporting a roadway crime involving a gun – including the brandishing of a firearm – between February 2023 and February 2024, KING5 reported, citing data from the Washington State Patrol. It’s a 70% increase from the number of incidents reported between March 2019 and March 2020, the outlet said.

    I live about an hour from that school.  This one hits close to home.  As a teacher myself, I hope to never experience something like this.

    We had a shooting at our local middle school a few years back. My kids were both at the high school at that time but the first reports of a school shooting were horrifying as we didn't know which school and all schools went on lockdown so the students really didn't know either.

    The shooter lived in my neighborhood and the kid across the street (still there) was in the classroom. He immediately became a home schooler understandably.
