Are you trying to make a case against gun control efforts, sheckster? If so, it’s incredibly lame, particularly in bold.
Wait til he finds out a guy with a shopping cart rammed the knife guy and disarmed him first.
Don't make up your own facts. Your statement is a blatant lie.

Yes, two different brave men rammed the stabber with shopping carts in the parking lot.

But, as it has consistently been reported, it wasn't until the legally armed Marine pointed his handgun at the criminal and repeatedly demanded he drop his knife that he finally did. Then several men jumped on the stabber and detained him for the cops.

It's also very significant to note that the armed Marine exercised the control and good judgement to not shoot the stabber.
Obviously, it was the fear of being shot that caused the attacker to drop his weapon, ending the danger to the public.

Just get rid of them. Focus more on guns than drugs. I have said it before. Cops in Japan do not even carry guns. Because there is zero tolerance. Just get rid of them. Guns equal crime and death.
No, people who are mentally ill and have never been trained in proper gun usage and ownership equal crime and death.  Somehow none of my guns, or guns owned by a hundred friends and acquaintances have ever been used for a crime much less used improperly at all.  Weird. But just to make you guys happy, I will sit down with my guns tonight and have another talk with them. Just to be safe.
On average, how many guns do you and your friends own?    Do you feel like you would still be alive if you didn't have a gun?

Or people actually change?  Dude was from out of state so it makes sense now.
The very sad irony is that the building's security officer at the front desk who was shot and killed was unarmed.

Why does it bother you that most here just want common sense gun laws? How long have the democrats been coming to take your precious guns away? Not one common sense law since Sandy Hook

Had a legally armed and trained security officer been on duty, it is possible this tragedy could've been stopped before it started.

My bad.  That article has more details than what I read. So the rampage was stopped by shopping cart guy. The stabber was then cornered by another shopping cart guy and a gun guy and then dropped the knife.

Yes, that's true. However, I have a news article that stated the security officer saw the gunman enter the lobby so he ducked behind his desk. The shooter then walked over and shot him.
Had the security officer been trained and armed maybe he could've shot first - we'll never know.
I'm not sure how this "new and improved" Forum works yet but I was unable to figure out how to post the article's URL. Maybe I'll try again later...

again....possible...but if that was the gunman's first target then they were likely toast anyway. If security stands up and unholsters the weapon the gunman will act immediately

I have to say that these arguments always pop up (if only everyone was armed then....) but that isn't the problem.

Now imagine how many would have been killed if the assailant had an AR15 instead of a knife, like the trump supporter who shot up the Walmart in El Paso a few years back.

Just get rid of them and then mental health is a non-issue. Easier to eliminate guns than control the mental health of millions of people.

True, but then there will be a lot of cowards that won’t feel safe without the ability to kill somebody at any moment.

It is no secret that the US has one, if not the highest, gun related homicide rate amongst developed nations. Fewer guns means less shooting. It is not complicated math. The only reason to allow guns is because other people have guns. Just get rid of them all.

Unfortunately, it will not change anytime soon and I am not sure there is a way to repair what has already been allowed. Politicians have tried and failed time and time again. I go back to my Japan example. You can get a hunting rifle after extensive background checks, but no handguns for civilians. Ever. They have crime, but less people die.

Or to quote Bill Hicks from the early ‘90s: “England, where no one has guns: 14 deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns…23,000 deaths from handguns. But there’s no connection, and you’d be a fool and a communist to make one. There’s no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone.”

New Uvalde school shooting records — nearly 12GB — come as part of a settlement in a yearslong lawsuit that news organizations, including ProPublica and Texas Tribune, brought against state and local governments. We continue to seek records from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

    Holy shit, dude.

No mass shootings in 25 years (your claim).... NY State has the 4th lowest rate of gun violence. Facts are facts.

    Gun laws work.

"We compared gun policy across the country, scoring every state on the strength of its gun laws and comparing it with its rate of gun violence. In states where elected officials have taken action to pass gun safety laws, fewer people die by gun violence. Choose a state to see how it stacks up on 50 key policies, or explore a policy to see how much of the country has adopted it."
HOLY shit indeed!  NYS also had a tremendous increase in Concealed weapons permits and the state still manages to be safe. So, do people change or are the looser gun laws just an anomaly?

Opposite.  I am saying the culture can change.  We have more conceal carry permits now than ever in NY and it never turned into the wild west.

It is not what the anti gun people were touting.  They expected to have shootouts on every street corner if CC was easier to get.
