As much as I like to see Eddie solo, if this show happens, I agree and would prefer two nights of PJ. Actually really excited to see KOL as well, like their new album alot

Best airport to fly into and out of the Point?  LAX or San Diego, both show about equi-distant but for some reason it seems to think the at LA will be quicker ride by nearly a half hour than SD.

    Thoughts anyone?

Orange County (SNA) is closer if you can find direct flights - that’s what I’m doing from Chicago

Long Beach is a great airport (Southwest and Jetblue fly there). It is like 10 gates, so super easy in and out. Orange County would be closer, though.

Nah. This is Eddie's festival and Saturday night is his. I'd be happy to see the guys from the band come out for some guest spots though. It could make for some unique versions.

The Saturday seems like the night to skip, IMHO. I don't know who Maggie Rogers or anyone else is on that night.

The Frames is Glen Hansard's band. Saturday will be fantastic.

I’ve never been to Ohana before which is why Eddie on the Saturday is more essential to me than PJ on Sunday. Maggie Rogers is excellent and The Frames will be fantastic.

Definitely fly into Orange County if you are able. So easy and close. We flew in there one of the years for Ohana from Eugene after dropping our kid off at college and had a blast. The drive from LAX down blows unless you get lucky with light traffic. Doubt that will be the case on a gorgeous weekend in late September when the Southland is hopefully somewhat back to normal. Good luck!

That’s a crazy thought and I only like it because I’ve seen Eddie like five times since last seeing PJ in 2014. Can’t believe it’s been that long. Horrible! I “Guarantee “ Eddie will have Mike out and Matt out for a song or two. Would love to see Masters of War with just Ed and Mike like all those years ago when they did it. He could bring the whole band out for Hard Sun or RITFW Sat night. I’m getting chills thinking about it. Now let’s make it happen!!!

We are flying to LGB (Coming in from Salt Lake City). Its about a 30 minute Uber from LGB to Dana Point. Not sure if this is helpful for you or not!

Orange County(SNA) is your best option. San Diego is a much nicer drive than driving from LA...also if there are flights into Ontario Airport, that is about the same distance as LA, but a little less hassle than LAX
I live in San Diego. Flights to SNA will be more expensive. Drive from SD to south OC is about 1 hr at most.
I've been to every Ohana and I always drive up on Saturday morning, find a free parking place nearby, have breakfast/brunch, then walk over to Doheney.

We are coming from SLC as well!!  Live in Riverton.  However, as another option, we are flying direct into Orange County (John Wayne Airport, SNA) on Thursday.  It is also about a 30 min drive to Dana Point (although we are staying in San Clemente).

For anybody looking for a hotel, this place is 8.5 miles from the venue, and has good rates:

Now you have me intrigued....what is this "find a free parking place nearby" that you speak of?  I haven't been before and figured that parking would be a sh!t show....the potential of free parking changes my hotel requirements significantly....any insight would be helpful

Not sure I’ve seen the free parking either.  All I saw were lots of “don’t even think about parking here if you don’t want your car towed”.

I'm also in San Diego, and also can confirm that it's about an hour drive.

We've taken the shuttle bus, parking at San Clemente, and have not had issues with it. I think there can be a wait at the end of the night, of course.

If you're coming from the Boston area, be aware that there is a NON-STOP FLIGHT, once a day, on Alaska from Boston to San Diego. There's also one non-stop morning flight back to Boston each day. I highly recommend this option.
