MMJ is playing Keeneland in August (with Dave Matthews Band and others) so it's good to know they want to play. Guess at this point it's just up to California to allow it.

Green Day just postponed their European and UK tour to 2022. Say they are still planning on going ahead with their US tour starting in July.

Very shocked to see all these concerts going ahead this summer in the USA.

    Stay safe.

no offence, by why? People who got vaccinated or going too will be safe. Those that choose not to, well bummer for them. Why should the responsible part of society pay for their decisions. If someone decides they don't want it, then that's on them. Do we stop driving cars because some refuse to wear seat belts? Time to move on.

There's also no Viagra for kids.  What's your point?  Time to leave your caves.

What the fuck kind of an response is that?
Sick perv - why would kids need viagra?  Dude, get some help.

The point is that seat belts are required for all so your example does not apply.

    Seriously, viagra for kids?
Please, stay in your cave.  The children of the world need this to happen.

IDLES, who were planning to open multiple European dates last summer for PJ, just announced a full UK and US Fall Tour. 1) If you have ever listened or seen these guys before...this is a full participation, sweaty, jump around show with no chance of social distance pods or whatever. 2) The venues they are playing are all smallish clubs strictly GA including ending the tour at the Showbox on Nov. 9...there may be some guest appearances...

Woah, you definitely took my post the wrong way but I can kind of see how it could be misconstrued.  Anyway, my point is that medicine and vaccines that are intended for use by adults aren't always intended to be used by children.  The CDC has given us the green light to send our children back to schools and attend small gatherings even though there isn't a vaccine ready for them because the effects of COVID on children are minimal. I just don't see how your analogy of "we have seat belts for kids.  no vaccine for kids' is relatable to the vaccine situation.

The situation in Canada is quite bad right now, our whole country on severe lockdown. Yet all I hear now daily is concert announcements in the usa and europe for the summer and fall, the UFC had a  full arena last weekend and Machine Gun Kelly full concert last weekend. The difference between the two countries is so strange. To me it is simply the current difference in level of vaccination amongst population. In Canada we will rapidly vaccinate our population in the next two months and be near USA levels by then. I got mine a week ago and I am not that old. My optimism for this late Sept festival is quite high, but I keep it tempered to prevent massive disappointment if it doesn't proceed.

you are taking my analogy a little to literal. I guess if I used your logic, I would say how many "kids" do you see in GA at a PJ show? And, as a vaccinated adult, maybe leave your kids at home when you attend a concert. Last, science shows kids for the most part dont even get covid or if they do dont get sick. Come on man, lets be real and move on with life. My kid got cancer at 12. Shit happens. Life went on and he is better now. He will be with me at ohana!

I don't bring kids to a concert (although we know some do and you clearly state you will) but if, as a vaccinated adult, I go to a concert and come home to my kids I can give them the virus.  They can then experience the full effects without a vaccine and pass to others they come into contact with - and the effects can include the long term effects that many people are experiencing.
Science shows kids can get it and spread it.  The killing from this virus is not the only thing that is impacting people.

What ticks me off is I keep hearing "people who want the vaccine can get it"....but they are not acknowledging kids as people when they say this.

You can choose to bring your 12 year old wherever you please - and if Ohana goes forward and allows kids you can bring the child there as well.    I would not do so but that is my personal choice as a parent.
I am glad to hear that your son is doing well - cancer is awful.

You do realize that millions of children are attending schools and churches and mixing with the adult population at grocery stores and malls across the US?  Those that could be harmed severely by COVID have the opportunity to receive the vaccine.  Time to move on.

    "Time to move on."
Kids are also wearing masks and staying apart from people where they can.  They are not jumping around screaming at a rock concert.
Whatever.  Statements about "every person who wants the vaccine will be able to get it..." are invalid.  Those under 16 are people, too.

At least there are no comments about sexual enhancement drugs and kids in that response.

I hope that things can be safe at that point and they make the right call.  I do trust that Pearl Jam is one of the bands who will look closely at things and make the call based on safety and not be governed by greed or desire - so if they decide to go forward I imagine that the numbers, policies, and predictions will support it being safe at that time.

Kids have been playing sports maskless all over the country since September.  They are not massive vectors for spread, thankfully.  Good or not the world is not going to shut down for another year or two until it is approved for a population that 99.9% will have mild symptoms if any at all.
