Hi! I have a problem.. My cat contracted the Feline
Herpes Virus in 05'. I have an appointment for him to
See his doctor in a week(soonest I could get in). He's having
a horrible outbreak, and L-Lysine doesn't seem to be helping!
I Remember someone on this thread saying their SO was a vet.
Anything I can do for my little guy to help him feel more comfortable
until he can be seen?? Please! He's SOOOOOO miserable right
Now, and I hate seeing him like this!!
Thank you in advance!0 -

he's drinking water...he likes sitting in the tub and howling until someone turns on the faucet. But recently, he's be jumping in my lap and he is literally sopping wet (and I haven't turned the faucet on for him). I was wondering where he was playing...in the dog's water bowl. :x

My cat does the same thing!!
It typically happens after Batman and Danger are wrestling, and then Batman gets upset and hightails it for the water dish. Then he steps his front legs inside and plays with the water, like what the photo shows. My guess is the water dish is "base" or "goal," and the boys have agreed no fighting can happen there.Cats are so weird!

my cats drink from their bowl and the bathtub/shower :fp: I'll go in the bathroom and there they are licking around the drain :? But if i turn on the water they get out there as fast as they can

Pig does this as well. We have a bowl that dispenses the water. He knocks it over so he can play in the water. So now we can't fill it up anymore.
I jump out of the shower and he jumps in the shower and rolls around in the water. He also likes to sleep in the sink and lick the faucet when he get's thirsty. My butt itches!0 -
I think it's pretty funny that so many of your cats love water so much! Sam isn't that keen on it. She is intrigued by the shower, but only because we are in it. We do have friends whose cats love the faucet though.
Whispering hands I hope your kitty feels better soon! I can feel your pain, it's the worst feeling when you know that something is up and you cannot do anything :(
Sam is doing fine, she must get a blast out of how much we love her. But she is just the cutest thing ever! I enjoy watching her whatever she does ... We got her a cat cave for cheap and she loves it so much that she almost spends all day in itShe loves her scratch pad, so now we are thinking about getting her this:
Just the thought of seeing her work it cracks me upPlease, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/148993/please-pearl-jam-consider-a-vinyl-benaroya-hall-re-issue0 -

That would last about week in this house. Pig and Gremmie go through a scratch post about every 2 months. If it was just one of them I would get it but these two would destroy it. But I don't mind buying a new scratch post every couple of months if it means they won't scratch anything else up.My butt itches!0 -

Must try this!!! My latest one - Captain Fuzzykins - can't resist sticking her head through anything and everything!
Whispering Hands - hope your kitty feels better :(
4 out of my 6 cats love playing in water - water bowls, water from the faucet, puddles, etc. One of them even goes out in the rain and plays with the raindrops (yeah.... Captain Fuzzykins - think we really hit the jackpot with her  ). She does get scared when the wind blows hard though (she's only started to go out 3 weeks ago)
eeriedave - LOVE that water bowl fountain thing!0 -

Pig likes to drink from the toilet. So now we have to keep the lid down. One day next week I will leave the lid up and try to catch him doing it and snap a picture. My butt itches!0

For immediate relief .. I suggest
When you take a shower, take him in the bathroom with you. (not in the tub with you) The steam will help him cough that stuff up and let him breathe
Or turn the shower on and get it filled with steam, put him in the room with the door shut for 10 minutes.
after you steam him... be careful and avoid exposing him to extreme cold temperatures. Don't get him wet or anything. After Marty's steam party, I would wrap him in a towel and clean his eyes and nose.
I saved Marty's life doing this. After a few weeks and several bloody sneezes. He's been alive and well for almost 2 years. This will give him relief until you can go to the vet
bump. lysine is the only thing I know that helps. I asked the cat nip pawty on twitter. #wlf0 -

Crap Tree! I'm so sad. Tommy is getting put down Tuesday? OMG.
If you send me a picture, I can have a memorial for him through #wlf. Many will RT and mourn with you.
Confucious will eventually get to renal failure. I wish some one made cat glasses. He is a pain in my ash.
He has peed blood off and on for 12 years. He's always having skin problems. The cat has been tested 4 times for aids/leukemia/ and herpes. Every test he has gone through comes out negative. His personal medical file is so thick.
I still love him dearly and I made a firm decision a few years ago.
It's really strange but I already planned it, and contacted the company. When Confucious goes I'm going to have him taxidermy ed. So he will always be around.
Is so expensive.Post edited by STAYSEA on0 -
