as eyed stated......i would wash myself clean, i never truly knew the person anyway.
What if it was someone you really did know to be a good person - like your mom or child or something - and they just had a psychotic break?0 -

Plus, it's not even about just accepting it. Would he actually feel the same way, where he supported and encouraged it and wanted it, if it were his child? That's my question.0 -

"get a grip on yourself" is what i would say.
rape, torture, murder...
mega prison terms.
keep fuckin around when free and the next maniac offense will bring on a swift bullet.
i am all for imprisonment but when they keep destroying lives... wham kaboom crack goes the .357 behind the ear.
simplistic and understandable.
very easy.
very much needed.
we have always needed this and we always will.
some "things" can never be helped and cured.
why keep the revolving door open?
serial child molesters, serial rapists, serial killers... they swing swiftly when their necks are strung tightly in a noose.
believe it or not, its a true story.
btw, i love my sanctuary and meditation garden with the enlightened Buddha.
it's butterflies, wild horses, cool mountain streams and fresh air.
hummingbirds landing in my hair
a flower?
no.
just a warm feeling of peace.
do not make me spank you.

I agree with this. If it could be done, it would still be the hardest thing to come to terms with.
But than again, no parent would ever convict their child and send them to prison for life either I wouldn't think.hippiemom = goodness0 -

one thing i've noticed in certain peoples comments here, is that there seems to be an awful lot of talk about child molesters and rapists and all the things that should happen to them. this thread is about the death penalty in general. i'd just like to take a moment to remind you that it's not just child molesters and rapists that murder and face the death penalty.
it's like you have tunnel vision on those crimes only? do you still advocate the death penalty for people who murder in other ways?
what about someone who drink drives and kills someone? death penalty? or someone that is talking on their phone while driving, not paying attention and kills someone? death penalty?0 -

This thread is so all over the place. I'd really like to get some straight, honest answers from all of you who are pro-death penalty.
1. My understanding of the positions I've heard is that anyone who murders, rapes, or molests should be sentenced to death. Murder by drunk driving should warrant a death sentence if the person has ever driven drunk before. In all cases, it doesn't matter whether the person is mentally ill (even if just for a moment) or whether he is likely to do it again. Do I have all that right? Is that how you all feel?
2. What about minors?
3. Only one of you has answered the question about whether or not you have experienced the murder of a loved one. Have you or not?0 -

Maybe I'm just blind, but I didn't see where you answered her question.0 -

bepending on how heinous the crime.
serial killers, serial rapists, serial child molesters... these kinds of beasts are done in my book.
drunk driving is an all together different ball game.
drunk driving and harming ppl is not breaking into their home and torturing the innocent for 3 or 4 days then skinning them alive then eating them.
btw, some of you slay me...
minors are minors.
they are generally stupid as hell.
my loved ones have never been murdered.

i cant dispute your words.
but are the drunk drivers serial killers, serial rapists, and serial child molesters?
fuck no they are not.

i find it extremely odd that decent kind ppl would defend the life of a maniac or a thing.

the death penalty doesn't bring peace or healing to the victims families no matter how the person died. you can't spend the rest of your life focussing on that anger otherwise it poisons you and you become a victim all over again. it destroys you, messes with you and it just never stops. you spend more time thinking of revenge and less time on honoring your loved ones memory and remembering the happy times. you have to somehow let go and have faith that the judical system will imprison the person once they are found guilty so that they can't hurt anyone else.0 -
TriumphantAngel wrote:i am completely against the death penalty under any circumstances. that's my point. you said you have never been a victim yet you have so much anger directed at a selective murderers only. to me, that's hypocritical.

i am pretty god damn thrilled to be honest with you.
why in the world would i be angry?
i haven't an angry bone in my body.
what i do have is zero tolerance for cruelty.
it makes me happy when cruelty loses.
it's that simple.
anger?
it's not anger at all.
it's happiness.
it is a frickin carnival.
i kid you not.
you should try it sometime.
