why is the life of the person that killed someone I love, considered an equal trade for my loved one? how can some total stranger assume that by sentencing the offender to death, things will automatically be squared up?

It's not and it never will be.

and please don't forget that the offender has a family too. brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents. why should they have to see their loved one murdered? they are innocent victims too.
it never squares it up, never will.
what it does do is stop the maniac thing from destroying other people's lives.
    simple shit.

at this point it isn't even about revenge.

so put them in jail chadwick. don't murder them.

My Uncle, always an upstanding, close member of the family, was just convicted and sentenced for being a pedophile. Me = wash hands of that rat bastard for the rest of my life. My mom, on the other hand, still communicates with her brother. I guess it all depends. Probably easier to let go of an uncle than a brother.

so then, you support the idea of putting him to death, as some here would have us believe he deserves?

he was like 70 yrs old... that was 10-12 yrs ago.
he is a very dirty nasty old bastard.

when he is set free instantly he finds young boys and molests them.
    he cannot be cured.
his head is fucked, his spirit is tainted.
    he works for evil.

so we should just kill people because the justice system in your area is super-flawed??? MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T SEE IT BEFORE!

that is fucking horrible, arq. were you against the death penalty (or did you have a stance at all) before this happened to your family? does your whole family feel the same? was the killer caught? did they face the DP? if so, did it help you get over it?
were you against the death penalty?
I wasn't in favor, but normally we believe that those kind of thing could never happen to us, but the truth is it happens.
does your whole family feel the same?
Well my family is just my mom and I, I do have more family but i'm an only son, so even thou we always had (have) the support of our family my mom and I took the hardest blow.
was the killer caught? did they face the DP?
    Nope, and nope

As a family we had plans, dreams and a lot of things coming, like everybody's family, in a second all that could change and you have to live a new reality, the death penalty is not going to solve that new reality but keeping the person in prison forever is like killing it in a way.

shoot him dead on his feet. that's called self-defence/preservation. the ONLY time killing is warranted.

I don't believe you. And I don't think you would consider someone you truly know & love to be a thing. And if others considered someone you love to be a thing, it would break your heart. And breaking the hearts of an innocent family is not right or productive, whether it's the family of the victim or the family of the "thing".

Of course I don't know you, and maybe you've had all kinds of experience with this kind if thing that I don't know about. But this is my theory anyway.

poke out his eyes and cut off his balls(he can keep his ears and limbs for now)...........i would expect the same for any member of my family.

  • I would agree with that to a point, but there are many major human rights and racial issues that I disagree on with my parents, so there comes a point where you choose to agree with how you were brought up or not.

ok, but washing your hands clean of the person is quite a bit different from sending them to their death. what if this was your child that was convicted of this crime? would you want them sentenced to death? if so, I'd have a hard time distinguishing one monster from the other.

i would accept the punishment for the behavior that warrants such punsihment........then as a parent, i would ask myself, what could i have done to help?

then the answer would reveal itself......my child became an adult and made a decision that is totally unacceptable.

there you go......now you can label me however you would like.

live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
  • because I personally can't believe a person who knows what it's like to be a parent would EVER actually accept a death sentence for their child in the name of justice, that's why.
