are you in denial
tell us what YOU think an average prison-day-in-the-life of a murder 1 convict is like
whatever it is is better treatment than their victim(s) gotand you believe that killing people should get you years in prison, rent free, 3 meals a day, free health club, a library,a chance to get your degree, all the prison sex you could want, a nice walk outside everyday, and hundreds of crazy women writing you everyday with marriage proposals?
This kind of seems like your talking luxury0 -
ive worked w/ more than a few guys who have been in prison, it's not nearly as bad as people percieve from what i take, yes you've lost your freedom , you can't say when or what you want to do, no women, but once you become accustomed to that, it can be cathartic, the regiment and programs and learning become your life, i've heard a lot of postitive things from people who needed prison to turn there life around. Also my dad was a Correction Officer for 35 years, so i've heard my share of prison stories. But some M.F.er's just NEED to die.0

killing a murderer? i got no problem with that.
letting our pathetic court system decide who's the murderer and execute them? no way.0 -

I oppose the Death Penalty
But I also oppose rehabilitation for Murderers unless they've already been diagnosed with some sort of Mental disorder.
I think cold blooded killers should be locked up without TV's, Gym Membership & 3 good meals. They should be in tiny cheap cells with and be fed bread, grits, salad, and water and be forced to do manual labor.
These people should not cost the taxpayer one cent.NERDS!0 -

let's take a walk in someone else's shoes for a moment
let us say polaris, you have a child, and some "human" murders that child.
and you happen to live in a state that will give this "human" the death penalty
would you really feel that would be a inhumane act to put him or her to death?
which of the two is the "real" inhumane act?
i feel when someone murders another, that someone has lost all rights
all we have in this life is our life
one chance
how is it you can feel that if one person murders another, the murderer has any rights
i do not
although i answer hypothetically ... as know one truly knows how they would react ... i say that i would still be against the death penalty ... it's a value-based answer ... i don't support wars ... i don't support sanctions on civilians ... it's not a matter of whether this individual has a right to live ... simply that killing this person does nothing except perpetuate that killing someone is ok ...
your point of view is fairly narrow ... i mean how do you define murder? ... what do you call it when an army drops bombs on civilians? ... no one ever asks for the death penalty against the general who called for the air strike ...
there is context to everything ... circumstances we may or may not understand ... in the end, you have to ask yourself what kind of world do you want to live in? ... a world where death is the solution to all that ails us? ... or one that is based on compassion?
Excellent post. Especially that last part.0 -

For all violent crime offenders (murder, rape, etc) we set aside a few hundred square miles of land somewhere in some wasteland... NM... and fence it off. They can set up their own society within those walls and continue to kill and rape each other if they want. No more need for prisons or discussions of the death penalty. Problem solved.

Seems like this was done once in history. I little island called Australia if I recall correctly. Didn't quite turn out as they had hoped.
fewv of the first fleeters were what could be considered violent criminals though none were rapists or muderers.though quite afew were convicted thieves. they were transported for privy theft, highway robbery, cattle and sheep stealing, fencing, forgery, swindling and impersonation and grand larceny. a few were transported for mugging. more than half were transported for minor theft.hear my name

I remember another execution when the inmate requested a firing squad, just curious.

Put him him a tiny cell with pictures of the crime scene on the walls of his children he killed... see if that drives him insane. Only let him out to get gang raped and beat by other prisoners.
I agree with the death penalty being an easy way out. You lose me when you advocate treating criminals like animals. It always surprises me when people want to let prisoners beat, rape, and murder each other, but then lament prisoners behaving like animals and not being rehabilitated."Bombs dropping down. Godfather.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0 -
I live in Utah, where the state just executed a man by firing squad a little over a day ago. It made me sad. "Civilized" humans killing another.
The way I see it - killing another human being is wrong. Whether it's a man killing his wife and kids or the state of Utah carrying out a sentence from 25 years ago. Killing another human being is morally wrong. I don't see how so many people can see it any other way. The local polls before the execution were ridiculous. Like 82% of these fuck sticks in Utah believe that execution by firing squad is humane....
And I say to myself....what a wonderful world :roll:0 -
the idea of not having capital punishment isn't to protect the people like this man, its to protect the ones who are innocent.... if 9 people are killed for crimes and one for a crime he didn't commit, does it justify killing that one man so that the other 9 are "brought to justice"?live pearl jam is best pearl jam0
