They said Jimmy had, I think, a "sore" hamstring.

I guess Nate Robertson isn't the solution for a 5th starter.

i miss the pete sampras days. he was the man.

i watch women's matches way more often than i do the mens.

Not to derail this thread onto tennis but here is what I mean about mens and womens in my response. I believe Federer has won 3 points in less than a minute each. Some of the womens games were taking up to 8 minutes.

shhh don't let anyone hear that - they will probably have some excuse like home runs aren't important or it's the ballpark.

Not to start anything, but a little info about Mr. September.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post?id=5155

Ryan Howard has baseball's lowest "infield flyball percentage." He has 15 pop-ups in his career.

I saw that when it was happening. I hope she's ok - her shirt says she's ill. I'm going to get a shirt that says "well" in Phillies script.

Facts are facts whether there good or bad. Like the fact that he's the fastest mlb player in HISTORY to 250hrs.

Jesus christ. The point has always been that hitting home runs is all he does well, no one argues that he can hit a lot of home runs. If baseball were a home run derby every night, he would be outstanding, but there is a lot more to baseball than that.

Did you also know he is the 2nd fastest player in MLB history to 1000 strikeouts?

    Like fucking children...

And what the shame of it is is that both Utley and Howard play for the same team - the one they apparently root for mind you - and turn them against each other as if you're behind one player or the other. Fucking real gay. And at the point of being fucking played out.

Because this is what they come to the table with day in and day out. It's ridiculous. And they still don't get that the dude who rags on Howard CLEARLY does it to get this response out of them. Clowns.

And just heard a SportsCenter anchor call Werth, "The Rated R Superstar." Since when was Werth a superstar?

I don't care who likes Howard or doesn't, Yankees fans or whatever. He is a great player who never pops up, but strikes out a whole lot and isn't all that good at defense. Sorry to bring it up by pointing out stark facts that no one can argue with. Unlike some vague stat like WAR, where we're not really sure what goes into it because it's in Bill James' black box.

Lots of HR's, lots of K's, lots of RBI's, one WS trophy, two pennants. I think most teams would take that.

Yeah, but here's the problem - I don't know who you're trying to convince.

only opinions need convincing - you can't dispute FACTS.
