It was a fucking bar fight. I would guess people have died because of bar fights before. But because it happen near the ball park it's a Philly thing. I'm so sick of people jumping on philly fans, it's funny how something happens some where else but it isn't a big story but if it happens in philly omg them horrible fans. There's people on this board that buy shit just to make a profit later does that make ALL PJ fans assholes??? I think not!!!

I've bumped into plenty of ASSHOLES at PJ shows and i don't lump them all together

Although...the more I read this board and all the whining on the other section my mind may change

    ;)

I think a move for Halladay is a no-brainer if your the phillies....Sure these young guys they are giving up are definate talents , but noone knows how " good" they really are until they pitch against big leaguers.....Jimmy Gobble was 11-1 in AA , and where is he now? buried somewhere in the bullpen? ALWAYS GO FOR THE PROVEN GUY !!!!!!

    JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION :?

On Sunday Night I watched Sports Final and they showed all the "Cant Miss Pitching Prospects" over the years the Phillies have had..What a pile of Garbage

I don't think one of them for their career had an ERA under 5.00

I'll take Cliff Lee. Don't think it's Halladay or Bust.

The Phils have the sickest lineup in baseball! A pitcher can win 15gms with a 4.50 era

but nah, it would be huge if they landed either of these aces... almost certain the Phightin's would play in another World Series

don't forget Pat Combs, Tonly Longmire, Wes Chamberlin - heck even Gavin Floyd who is good with the White sox but he isn't anywhere close to Roy Halladay's level. Make the darn trade Ruben!

reat article today by Gonzo (wow never thought I'd say that ;) ) about what the real focus of the incident outside the ballpark should be: (not trying to start a discussion, just thought some might enjoy the article)

Lee is a very solid pick up if it's true who will gladly welcome the Phils run support. He's gotten next to nothing in Cleveland this year.

Exactly. I LOVE it if it happens, but I just don't like 4 lefty's in my rotation. And if Roy Halladay is a Red Sock, not only am I calling Shenanigan's but there is no God. Ricciardi is getting fired at the end of the year, and he's a Mass. native. Trade within your division to improve your team without holding a king's ransom? Now THAT is fucking wrong.

I have a feeling Happ will be involved in any deal, because the Phils didn't just sign Pedro to go to middle relief and you're not moving Hamels, Blanton, or Moyer to the bullpen either.

I don't think Doc is going anywhere. But if he does go to Boston, Boston is giving up their top pitching prospect whereupon the Phils wouldn't. But as far as I know Boston hasn't made any official offers to get Halladay - they're just having discussions. And if the Phils pull out for Halladay and get Lee, Boston may be the only team left in the room to talk to Toronto because the Rangers can't afford any more payroll, the Dodgers and Yanks don't have enough, and the other teams who were pursuing Halladay have pulled out.

That's why I don't know why they don't try and see if they can squeeze TO up until the deadline since his max value is at 3:59 pm. If Doc doesn't go anywhere, then I'm even happier about the Lee move.

I don't think Amaro wanted to come back empty handed because Toronto wasn't going to make the deal without Drabek. It will be interesting if Happ gets scratched from his start tonight.

I just read a report from Boston and the actual offer to Toronto by Boston is:

    Buchholz (24 ML SP)
choice of Bowden (22 AAA SP), Masterson (24 ML SP/RP) or Lars Andersen (21 AA 1B/LF)
and two to three lesser products

The only reason I think that Sox offer is as competitive in Toronto's eyes is that Happ is already 26 with 2 years of service time in the majors after this season meaning they would control him for only 4 more years. Whereupon every other prospect in the trade would still be under team control for 6 years except for Masterson who would be under team control for 5 years before becoming a free agent. And that even if Drabek was in the deal he is probably still a year away from the majors whereupon the starters Boston are offering are either in the majors or have pitched in the majors already.

i just flat out don't understand not trading a minor league pitcher with one elbow surgery already for the best pitcher in baseball. just makes absolutely no sense to me (ghost of Ed Wade). If it is Cliff Lee then Amaro damn well better hope he pitches great for this team.

Lee has had two good seasons and is a lot cheaper salary wise than Halladay.

The negatives for me is he's another lefty and is a fly ball pitcher for his career, but has done better at that the last two years.
