I'm still trying to figure out how Pedro gets 130 pitches against the Mets last month but only 87 in the postseason. At least, he should have been on a batter-by-batter basis in the eighth.

not that hard to figure out...he had pitched one time in the last month.

I was on record as saying manuel should have started blanton over pedro...pedro was amazing. only mistake manuel made was bringing in happ to face ethier. madson was dealing. and happ sucks

where did you guys finish from 99-07. i believe it was either 2nd,3rd or 4th.

having a winning record means shit. making the playoffs means something. if having a winning seasons means so much to you than become a marlins fans. you play to win the world series, not have a winning record. i don't settle for a winning season, i settle for a championship.

champ do you really wanna have to deal with yankee fans gloating around the city for the couple years. i sure as fuck don't wanna.

    99 phillies finished in 3rd
    00 phillies finished in 5th
    01phillies finished in 2nd
    02 phillies finished in 3rd
    03 phillies finished in 3rd
    04 phillies finished in 2nd
    05 phillies finished in 2nd
    06 phillies finished in 3rd
07 phillies lost in the lds

so yea jammingpearls the phillies did suck up until 07

if those are good seasons to you than i feel sorry for you as a fan

phils world series champs in 2008.

no one cares about the eagles in this thread. I'm from philly, I love the eagles, but I don't care.

it's the playoffs...I will worry about the eagles in november when baseball is over. until then, give me phillies and pearl jam.

cliff lee was awesome tonight. once again, the crowd was horrendous. not sure what is happening in philly. hopefully tomorrow night is better

let's jump on Wolf early and make the Dodgers think they got no shot. this team is just ready to quit if you jump on them again.

i thought the crowd was fine last night - i wouldn't call it horrendous - come on it wasn't Dodger stadium - and the 'you took steroids' chat was pretty loud.

not sure why you went back to 99, when i was going back to 2001 in my post. but since 01, we certainly have not sucked. for the record, the mets didnt suck in 07 and 08 either. well, they did in september, but you get what i am saying.

The Phillies are a very good team but I wouldn't read too much into last night. Hiroki Kuroda was on the mound against the Phillies ace, the outcome was never really a question.

Eh, there's worse combos in the world of sports. Like when the Giants and Pats were in the Super Bowl. I actually rooted for the G-men because I knew just how much more obnoxious the condescending Boston fans would have become. That would have been leaps and bounds worse than the Giants winning. Actually, I was hoping for a tidal wave of AIDS to dump on top of that stadium.

funny how you add in the 3 good years to the mix when are talking bout 99-07,:lol: . bottom line is both teams did shit up until the 06 and 07 season. again having a winning season and not making the playoffs means shit to me personally. if that's how you are as a fan than i feel bad for you. you play to win the world series not go 95-67 and not make the playoffs and say hey that's a good season. look at the braves of the 90's. winning the division 14 straight years and only winning the world series once in that run. again thats great but bottom line is those braves season mean nothing without a ring.

i only do settle for a championship cause that's what matters the most. people hate the yankees cause they have 26 world championships not cause they finish with an above .500 record .winning 86 games means nothing to me. i could dig up how times both the phils and mets have finished above .500 but the glaring fact is did they win the world series in those years or did they choke in the playoffs or not even make them. you think those phillies players are gonna be happy if they lose to the dogers in nlcs or to the yankees in the world series and call it a good season, fuck no.
