I am from long island the only teams I root for besides the cowboys are all fron long island

The giants haven't played in NY since 1975 and never ever once played on long island

The jets haven't played on long island since 1984 which is a year before I was born

So explain to me how am I a fraud when I've never ever had a football team play on long island

Again is it the fact that I'm a cowboys fan that bothers you so much jiggy. Would you get your boyshorts in a bunch if I was a lions or panthers fan. I love it so much that I can get under a few people skins just by rooting for a football team. Its like shooting fish in a bucket.

Hey NYPJ1(jason) how did scalping world cup tickets work out for ya. Did you make a nice chunk of change off of them. I bet that money went to your stoogie habit.

Its amazing how I can fall off the face of the earth on this board and my name still gets mentioned  :clap::clap::clap:

    GO COWBOYS

now THAT would make him cool.

werth is cool at his current salary. Once he gets 12-15 mill per year he won't be cool

come on amaro, put the checkbook away...don't do it

ken rosenthal reported that a vazquez/werth swap has a 50-1 chance of happening. dang

If the Phils trade Werth and get back Vasquez and Lopez from Seattle which is what a friend told me is the latest rumor he heard, you might as well start the 2011 thread.

Lopez is for sabermetrics an awful player who has 6 more walks in 6 and 1/2 years than A Gon had last year and a sub .300 on base for his career.

Any anytime you get a chance to land a career 149-146 pitcher who makes more than Cliff Lee, you defintiely have to jump on it. Especially since the Yanks gave up Melky Cabrera and 2 minor leaguers for him.

Lopez is not a surprise. I saw a Phillies scout at one of the recent Yankee-Mariner games and once Utley went down, it was fairly obvious who he was scouting. This is his plate discipline numbers http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?pl ... discipline which back up Joe's post.

Fixer, if the Yankees don't project montero to be a catche which by making this deal they obviously don't, I don't have a problem with it. They are clearly going to sign him long term. If montero is not a catcher they don't had room for him with Tex and their aging players at dh.

Plus the window is closing for jeter and them and it gives them the best chance to win some more. This is very different from Santana trade.

A horse with a 4.53 ERA since 2004 minus his one year in cavernous Turner Field.

A nice robust 10.34 era in the post season too and having his worst strikeout to walk season in his career.

And a fly ball pitcher is always good for a launching pad of a stadium.

most of those numbers are in the AL. experts say a shift from the AL to the NL shaves .5 - 1 run off of a pitchers ERA.

which would you rather have in a playoff series...

    option A
    Halladay, Hamels, Blanton?, Moyer??

    option B
    Halladay, Vazquez, Hamels, Blanton?

EDIT: vazquez was OK in the NL east last year
