You think it could be werth to Boston or Tampa, prospects to Houston and oswalt to Philly?

See what does not make sense to me is that If you trade werth, regardless of how badly he is playing the phillies lineup is just not scary at all, especially with a huge question mark around utley.

I can deal with that. Yeah, but like I said, I'd like this deal for 2011.

True, if that's it though it probably means next years team is basically set as well. I can't imagine this trade not involving werth, it's going to tale a lot for oswalt and it would be really bad for Amaro to send more in prospects than he got for lee.

Sorry about not quoting. on my phone.

I fucking love the trade deadline.

Come on rizzi. Send dunn to the yanks!

That be fine with me if he goes to Boston, and Boston sends prospects to Houston. That works with me. Then in the offseason you see what you can unload Ibanez for, bring up Brown, then go after an outfielder in the offseason.

I don't think it will be Oswalt. I think it will be someone like Ben Sheets.

If the Phils got Oswalt, their committed payroll next year would be $150.7 million already. To give you an idea how high that is, the Yankees committed payroll next year is $144.6 million.

That move would severely limit the Phils from making any offseason moves.

Will be a big jump in payroll if that happens. Good for them, they can afford it.

    Good luck trading ibanez

I agree with this. I don't see oswalt as a fit. And haren isn't going anywhere.

I think we're looking at the phils getting a secondary piece like sheets or lilly, which would be an upgrade, but probably not enough to boost this team to the playoffs. so it's probably not even worth it if they don't have said players under contract for next year

So Happ's coming up to take Moyer's spot, and I'm assuming they'll still do something. But whatever, it doesn't matter.

James Shields I'm hearing as well.

Interesting about Shields, but I can't see Tampa cutting ties with him. He's got a pretty reasonable contract and they're already letting Pena, Soriano and Crawford walk at the end of the year.

If he's under control for 4 years I don't see why tampa would trade him. I know they have hellickson waiting in the wings to take a spot in the rotation, but trading a guy with that kind of contract completely contradicts their organizational philosophy. but what the hell do I know

Shields signed a contract from 08-11 and Tampa has club options on him each year from 12-14.

So he is under team control until 2014. I just don't see Tampa trading him away unless they get a ton. Especially in the middle of a playoff race.

Yeah fixer, his numbers are not as good as I thought they were but he is pretty good and cheap for 4 years.

You're right though. It does not make a lot of sense for the rays. I think it would take quite a bit more than a rental werth.

his numbers would obviously improve if he gets out of the AL east. My judgement is skewed because I think he's a giant douche

Young talented pitcher who would probably do very well with a team that dosen't suck balls every year. He's got good stuff and we were looking at him last year.

He said him and Stark are hearing the Phils are really pressing to have something done this week. And he keeps stressing Oswalt. Said that they definitely wanna make a deal for a frontline starter, and not a 3 or 4. And someone they can control pass this season. And Amaro will bring Brown up in a heartbeat if there's a way - ie trading Werth. And of course everything came back to the Lee trade, and Kruk just went off how this city will be livid. Happy that they get Oswalt, but livid due to not keeping Lee for 9 mil.

Zach duke has a 1.7 whip this year and 1.5 for his career. Ouch.

Duke, Westbrook, and Sheets all fucking suck. Myers, Shield, and Lilly are decent. And Oswalt & Haren being the studs.
