nice work by the bullpen, i think it's one earned run allowed in the last 25 or so innings.

28 innings now I think. Its ridiculous how quickly they changed. But, I think its the fresh arms that were brought in. Stokes and Ayala were guys not necessarily having great seasons, and now, after being brought in they have something to prove.

Nice job staying focused, Phillies. You lost the series with the Marlins and now you get to slug it out with the Brewers. Lucky to miss Sabathia for the set.

Meanwhile, the Mets win by a field goal 13-10. Everyone got into the offense. Bullpen did well enough to preserve the win. Mets get their final day off tomorrow and get ready to host the Braves over the weekend. The lead is now 3 1/2.

I went to the Phillies game today and the more I see these teams, the more I think the Mets are going to win this thing. Even if neither team has a great bullpen, the Mets have the edge in one important category - They have the better manager named Manuel.

Two big double-headers today in Queens and in Philly. Because of the rain-out, the Mets juggled the pitching rotation and will send Jonathan Niese to the hill in the second game against the Braves today. Pedro's start has been re-scheduled for Tuesday against the Nats, giving him seven days rest by the time he starts again.

Here's to you, Brew Crew. Give us Mets fans two more things to feel good about today.

I went to the Rays/Red Sox game last night. It was a good game, but mostly it kept me from having to watch the Mets lose to Odalis freakin' Perez 1-0.

They're only 1/2 game back of the Phils and leading the Wild Card at the moment. It's time to shave their heads, throw some chicken bones on the clubhouse floor, or send a Mets' employee to Atlanta armed with a black cat and a field pass.

Santana looked good last night. Schneider looked great. Everyone looked pretty good the last two nights.

Well, except Wright. What's going on with that guy? He needs to relax, take a breather.

I think he's too hard on himself and taking too much responsibility for the team that he can't snap this little funk.

Its great to see how much he cares, but he needs to just take a step back for his own sake.

You gotta get all wrapped up in the Russo scenario over on XM/Sirius for radio entertainment, especially in a big spot ;)..but yeah, sure Joe will be pretty fucking flipped tomorrow..seriously, this is just embarrassing..not so much the Jets who were beaten by the better team at this point in the season, but more the Met pathetic scenario..

I thought the Jet game had 31-14 loss written all over it, especially the way the Chargers lost to the Broncos last week. I just didn't have 31-14 at halftime..

No worries, I actually want to see you guys get in the playoffs too. I really think an NLCS of the Phillies vs Mets would make for great October baseball, and heat up this rivalry even more than it already is.

Yea, I was just trying to admit that I was wrong. An NL(East)CS would be crazy. I remember when the Mets played Atlanta twice in the CS and it was fucking nuts.

I hate the Mets...I love the Phillies...this is great for me to watch but I do have to say I really think the Mets deserve the wild card and I hope they get in. Mets, Phils, Cubs and Dodgers...all the big cities represented! Now THAT would be awesome

best case is the Phils hold onto the division but the Mets get the wild card. I much rather play the Dodgers than the Brewers. The Brewers could be dangerous in a short series with Sabathia and their lineup. Although I hate having to ever want anything good for the Mets.
