A three-year extension for Omar but the two sides can't agree on numbers for Manuel? What gives?

I also saw a report where Bobby Valentine said he could be interested in managing the Mets again. Not that anyone from the team has contacted him.

At least the Cubs' performance is taking some of the sting out of the Mets' failed run at the postseason. Never thought I would be delighted to see the Dodgers winning games in October...

Good stuff man I'll check it out. The bottom line this year is that DESPITE the bullpen we went into the last week of the season, the last regular season games at shea, with a 1.5 game lead over the Brewers and for the second straight we year blew it. No outs Murphy on third and he doesn't score, not the bullpens fault. 5 runs, 5 FUCKING RUNS in the lst 3 games, unacceptable. Coming out on Sunday after Johan pitches the game of his life the day before, one of the best pitched games in the history of the Mets and doing nothing against Scott Olsen, unheard of.

NY talk radio has been calling for a change in the core of the Mets and I have to agree. Wright,Reyes,Beltran are too valuable of commodities to trade, without them the Mets don't get to the last week of the season with a lead. Delgado is the problem. He has too much influence in the clubhouse and is too much apart of the old influence (ie pedro, alou, castillo etc) that the Mets need to get away from. With only one year left on his contract he has trade value and could bring back a good right handed bat. The Mets need to stop building the team around good numbers players, and start bringing in winning players.

Actually the only NY radio personality talking about breaking up the core is the lonely Mike Francesa from the former Mike and the MadDog program. It's clearly a ratings ploy in an attempt to tweak Met fans..The rest of the shows/hosts on Wfan have all called him out on this dumb stance. But I guess, as evident here, it's working for fatty so good job outta him..

Mike considers the core Wright, Reyes, and Beltran, which most agree with also. Delgado is not really part of the discussion as he only has a few years left in him, especially with the Mets. They will definitely trade him for value if the opportunity presents itself. It's not controversial, it's probably inevitable. Wright, Reyes, and Beltran are the core. There is no way they are trading any of them. The guy is an idiot..lol.:)..

Yeah I'm well aware trading Delgado is not controversial. I like Mike but he's been dead wrong on getting rid of Wright. Delgado, who has been part of the core for the past few years, is enough of a shake-up for me.
