    Bump.

so how is this enforced? The state of NJ should issue arrest warrants for those in military that performed the migrant deportation in Newark today for an illegal search?

Not this in particular but I’ve had lawyers’ business cards where the back had something to say if the po po pulled you over or stopped you on the sidewalk and started asking you questions. Basically that they couldn’t question you without a lawyer present and you were letting them know that by continuing to do so, they were violating your civil rights. This is similar to that but tailored to immigration raids and probably distributed by immigration support agencies, immigration lawyers, churches, etc.

I’m sure the videos will start popping up of the raids on immigrants homes. I’m sure Nazi miller has given orders to knock doors down if they have to and drag people to detention camps

The ilrc link didn't give a link to order the cards because they are overwhelmed with requests right now, and I don't trust any of our print shops here (I live in a somewhat MAGA county), so if anyone knows where to safely purchase these, please let me know.  We have a somewhat sizeable local Hispanic population here and I would like to have some of these cards on hand.

I have periodically over the years tried to explain to forced birthers why no one is "pro-abortion." They never get it.

Now apply this same logic to stances on border security. Is it blatant xenophobia like one side of our precious duopoly paints it out to be, or for the vast majority, could it merely just be security concerns?

Not aure how you’re speaking for the vast majority, but if it’s just security concerns, then they should use language exclusive to security concerns.

“They’re eating the dogs” was not security concerns about our canine friends.

Check the ACLU website as they have a “Know Your Rights” page with downloadable cards or print outs? Maybe in multiple languages. If not, search “constitutional rights cards” and then copy and paste content into Google translate English to Spanish.

You referred to the vast majority taking issue with the border because of security issues and not xenophobia. They both can be present, and xenophobia is often presented as a security issue.

It is pure xenophobia under the guise of "border security". Whipped up by the great conspiracy theory and dogwhistle machine that is the rightwingosphere and republican politicians grifting every dumbass who believs all of the bs.

Every last person worried about "border security" only cares about the southern border. They don't care or mention the nothern border or god forbid all the white people coming in illegally at international airports.

Nope its just all the brown people with funny names swimming across the Rio Grande.

From my personal point of view is there a border problem? Sure. Always has been. With nothern and southern borders as big as ours this is inherent.
But I know that just as many, if not more, "security threats' get in at International Airports. You don't  ever see red state governors sending their taxpayer funded national guard to the nothern border or to Kennedy Airport or O'Hare or Dulles.

    Just the southern border.

I don't think they have the cards, but the National Immigration Law Center has some great resources. Our organization is using them as a reference for impacted members of our community. Like Fax mentioned, ACLU should have some good resources.

This is nonsense.  We have illegal immigrants coming across the northern border as well.  Enough of the bullshit.

You missed the point, that's what he's saying, but no one ever brings that up as a concern. When are we building that wall on the northern border? Oh right, we're not.

No, I posed the question. Because I know they are both present. Since I base my opinions off of my own experiences, I feel one is much more likely than the other, and it’s unfair to paint that brush. Just like the pro-choice comment that I responded to.

Ah okay. There’s the issue. Drawing conclusions about 240 million American adults based on personal experience will almost always be wrong.

direct them to a website that has it? it can read off a phone as easily as a card. maybe a way to record it as well.
I envision SCOTUS someday ruling that the plaintiff’s rights weren’t violated because they requested an attorney via ChatGPT in their cell phone after LE punched them in the throat and that for constitutional protections to apply, plaintiff was required to “verbally request said protections under their own initiative and unique voice.” Therefore, in the absence of such, constitutional protections were not requested and LE wasn’t bound to provide them.

I’m going to take a wild guess and assume that these two didn’t come from “south of the border.” Just a wild guess.
