  • Joke for you:

How many over zealous campus cops does it take to remove a handcuffed, obnoxious student before they have to resort to using a taser?

What the fuck, do these guys get NO training?

I saw this this morning on the "today" show...I was really surprised to see them cover this...

anyway, I do find it interesting that some blame the kid who got tasered...let's say he did stage it...let's say he planted someone to videotape him talking to kerry...it doesn't take away from the fact the campus po-po put there hands on him first...and they did so because he continued to talk...he threatened no one...he was not going to hurt himself or others...he was just talking...

come on now, folks, step back from the venue, the questions, the possibility he "set this up" and look at how it was handled...it's a said day when a person can't speak his mind in a public setting without fear of being dragged away and tasered...

why do they think he set it up?

    15 minutes of fame / self-promotion.

I don't think that personally, but others do....

Other than 15 minutes of fame, what leads a person to conclude this?

He wasn't just talking, he was disrupting a public event. At some point that becomes disturbing the peace. The kid was not interested in Kerry's response (although I would have been). He started talking, and wouldn't shut up. Even after Kerry said he'd answer the questions he'd start yelling and creating a disturbance.

If any of you think he acted with decorum and respect, let me know. I'd like to stay away from you at public meetings.

actually he started shouting when the security grabbed him and led him away from the mic. kerry was about to answer but the security didnt wait.

it wasnt like the guy asked the questions and started shouting at kerry to answer. he wasnt even given the opportunity to wait and see if kerry would answer

He didnt start yelling until they cut his mic and the police started to confront him. Up until that point, while I'll admit, he was being annoying he was asking a question. Kerry asks him what point was being made (because the guy wouldn't get to the point) and Andrew responded that he was asking a question, he was just informing everybody as he did so. Kerry said alright and continued to let him talk. Even after they cut his mic and the cops confronted him Kerry told the cops to leave him alone, he'll answer the dude's questions. Obviously, they don't.

He was supposed to ask a question. He ended up asking multiple questions with no end in sight. When they started leading him away, Kerry spoke up and said he'd answer. But the dumbass was so busy being a bitch that the entire meeting came to a stop and he got all of the attention. As soon as things settled down a bit, and Kerry tried to answer AGAIN, the dumbass started yelling and pitching a fit again. When it was clear that the kid wouldn't allow the meeting to continue, they tasered him.

If someone else can show a pattern of tasering people asking reasonable questions I'll be up in arms about it. But showing a video of a spastic journalism student screaming for attention, and extrapolate that to post-Patriot Act America doesn't work.

we get it, you think the guy is a dick...but that doesn't justify the cops actions...

apparently, a lot of the people in attendance thought he was a dick too because they started applauding when they thought he was finally done talking. Funny how quick that changed when they realized he was being arrested and tased by the cops.

There was one video posted that was from the right side at the back of the auditorium. It shows the cops turn him on his stomach then handcuff him before tasering. Granted, he was still squirming a bit, but he was cuffed. What was he going to pull out, a spit ball? They only needed to stand him up. Can't 4 or 5 cops lift a 160 lb boy? Crazy!

I count six cops, pretty big ones. you wanna hear something crazier than that? in 2004, a SIX YEAR OLD male was TASERED at school. The cops said he was threatening to injure himself with a piece of glass and that it was their only option. So apparently, our cops (Florida) can't even subdue and fucking six year old kid.

I don't know..I think if the kid has something that can harm himself or others, then fine...if he was just talking shit...not fine...

please note: I've worked in group homes and a wilderness camp many moons ago...a crazy kid is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous than a adult...especially if they have a weapon...
