No, just trying too hard to get you to face your own mistake that 9/11 changed the world.

    That's the Lie.

And you seem to have bought into it hook, line, and sinker.

That saddens me. I thought you were a bit above that crap.

So you dont think american society (which is part of the world) has become more paranoid as a result of 9/11?

you dont think the war on Iraq, however unjust, occurred because they could get away with it after 9/11?

Yes you did. You sadi I was going to play Barney Fife. That is a direct attempt at an insult.

    Why do you do that?

That is not a personal insult.

How is that a personal insult?

I mean, unless...was I supposed to believe that your remark that I lost the debate was a personal insult?

    I don't think so.

I'm not here to win or lose.

I'm just here to speak my mind.

I could go back in this thread and bring up several of your posts that are more or less insulting.

I said that, becasue in a lot of cases, when people cant argue anymore they typically resort to name calling.

Dude, I don't know your posts too well. I recognize the name. I can do a search on your posts and maybe get a better idea on where you may be coming from. On this, yeah, we are polar opposites. It seems. I'm not saying police and the judicial system don't play a beneficial role in society. I am saying our rights to speak out in a public forum are being seriously compromised and that video is a case and point.
You, and others like you, whether you know it or not, are minimizing such procedures as par for the course without giving due consideration to the proccesses that are involved in such acts. This is the Constitution at stake here. Your constitution, and mine. I feel strongly about this.

Of course it 9/11 changed things. It's delusional to think otherwise.

On the right the paranoia led to the Patriot Act, and the carving away of liberties.

On the left the paranoia has led to any government or police action, proper or not, to be labeled fascist.

Fair enough. I feel strongly about the issue of censorship and rights too. I actually agree with your statement that our rights are being compromised, not necessarily in this instance, but in general.

But Im referring to the way this guy went about his whole agenda. He could have asked a question, and followed it up with real info, rather than looking like Jimmy Fallon in a bad SNL skit.

It appears that Kerry was going to give him more time anyway, and even while they guy was being escorted out of there, Kerry tries to answer the question.

But even then, the guy yelled and screamed, and tried to run from the cops. He would have gotten an answer if he just acted mature.

But its lcearl he wasnt trying to get an answer, he was trying to start a scene.

I don't think the student had an agenda to get attention or whatever. Obviously he had thought about what he was going to ask, and then, to me, decided as he went... knowing ahead of time these questions probably wouldn't go over well with those who had an ear to care.

Kerry had an ear to care, so it seems, but as we all know...what fucking difference does Kerry make?

I think the world is the Earth. We human animals inhabit it in all our finery. Or less than finery as the case may be made for the Iraq Occupation.
The only real impact we have on the Earth is our ability to choke our lives off from it as is the case with the increasing carbon we emit.

    People killing each other?

    Yawn.

Too bad we're not a little smarter, eh?

Now you may say, "how is it that you yawn at murder? How is it that you can get so wound up at some stupid punk getting tased??

Well, the thing is, I am HUMAN. But, I'm not the WORLD.

I don't think you've made that differentiation, Skitch.

I think you've allowed that for your own rationale of things. That's about all it amounts to.

Now you're arguing semantics. Yes the world is still round. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

No, i dont think the tulip bed in my front yard changed at all as a result of 9/11...but the societies in the world have changed- i had no clue you were being so literal.

I totally understand how you can yawn at murder and get your panties in a bunch about something else. I honestly am not too bothered when some ass gets murdered while trying to rob a store... but it bugs the hell out of me when people do shit like wear shirts to "FREE the Jena 6"

You did well on that topic bringing to light the details of what most haven't been seeing.

As for the world, I don't take it with multiple meanings too much anymore. This is true.

If you listened to the Rove administration... the world is an abstract, to be changed on a whim. If you have the power...
The arrogance of that sort of speaking brought me closer to the singularity of the dirt beneath my feet.
