  • I think he wanted to ask some serious questions. You saw the same vid right?

The police had a cum nut on for tasering. They are the ones feeling it brush their groin every so often in the holster when they walk with it.

Jeez now I sound like speedy... lol

from the vid i saw...i saw a kid who is a wise ass (which i can relate :))...he wanted to create a scene, and made damned sure he got it on tape...so he passed off his camera to his friend..

sometimes this we make too much out of this stuff than it actually is.

I'm just looking at the reality of this situation, and to make anything more out of it than a smart ass (again, an expert :)) making a name for himself is getting way more into the situation than it dictates.
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

He definitely got his few minutes of fame. He'll go down in history as the skull and bones upset frat guy.

He'll get some pussy just the same....the glasses might be thicker though...

bill o'reilly should be the one getting tasered. oh.... he probably did. by bush, that's why he's his bitch.

"stop being a pussy. it'll get better after awhile. believe me, you'll start liking it. it's like.... heaven, or invading iraq." said bill to the student who got tasered.

    Some perspective...

What perspective is that? Galloway was invited to speak in front of 20 old men using the time to catch up on naps. How is this related to the topic at hand?

  • Joke for you:

How many over zealous campus cops does it take to remove a handcuffed, obnoxious student before they have to resort to using a taser?

What the fuck, do these guys get NO training?

    thereya go! EXACTLY!
FIRST thing my husband said upon the news. he said 5 cops.....all surrounding him, was COMPLETELY unnecessary to taser him, besides the fact that there are a whole slew of other options that SHOULD be utilizied BEFORE ever using a taser. he said if it goes to court, IF these cops were trained properly...they really will have NO defense b/c they clearly overracted and escalated it immediately.

btw - my husband has said a tasr can be considered 'deadly force' b/c it CAN cause some people to have a heart attack...and that yes, being tased is no joke.
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

i loved the huff post headline; it's trying to make it sound like b/c he asked one question he got taserd. he intentionally went over his time; i'd even say he acted arrogantly to think that he had more of a right than anybody else and the rules shouldn't apply. i understand his questions but he's no more special than anyone else, so follow the rules and don't ignore people when they ask you to do something...unless you're an attention whore.

I appreciate he was acting like an idiot but in my country we don't taser people for asking questions lol. Bit of an extreme reaction!

I have been to political forums. And talking out loud....anything above a whisper...is not allowed.

People want to hear the SPEAKER speak.

It wasnt a "discussion in the round" and it wasnt a "group project" where people can openly discuss with their discussion partners.....it was a Q and A.

The Q......then the A.....and not dominated by one person. This guy was lucky they even let him ask a question.

    Okie...dokie...

    good luck with that analogy...

They had a microphone there for a reason.....don;t see to many microphones in movie theathers....or podiums for that matter...

  • apparently the kid refuses to go on national news syndicates to discuss the incident unless they also discuss the questions he asked. Some media whore uh?
  • I like the way some people on here can't understand that just because somebody is annoying, it doesn't mean they should be violently arrested for asking a couple of questions. I hope these people are just joking, because NOBODY deserves to be treated in such a violent way just for asking a couple of questions. Hell, the guy even said he would walk out of there if they would let him get up.

And whilst the police obviously serve a certain role, they are largely made up of egotistical power hungry individuals. I have a number of friends who are police officers, and by their own admission, part of the reason they do the job is because of the feeling of power. What's more, you don't have to be a clever bod to get in either, it kind of unsettles me when people less intelligent than me get to make decisions about my civil liberties.

I like the way some people on here don't understand decorum, and confuse grandstanding, resisting, causing a commotion with civilized speech. I like the way some people thought this was some sort of “discussion” rather than what is really was, where people had the opportunity to wait their turn, ask one question, and allow the speaker to answer that question. That people are still fooled by that tool shows that P.T. Barnum was right. Suckers.

    I agree.

Also, if you watch that video, the guy tried to run from the cops two or three times, and continued to resist arrest. He is in a room with a US senator, former presidential candidate, and possible (god help us) future presidential candidate.

it was not a shareholders meeting, it was not a season ticket holder town hall meeting.

They only tased him after he REPEATEDLY tried to run.

This guy was acting like an idiot, and was showing aggressive behavior. His "questions" became a monologue, and they asked him to ask his question, then he insisted on asking three....but continued to ramble on, and they asked him to leave. he didnt leave, so they shut off his mic, because he kept talking and not allowing Kerry to respond.

but he lunged toward KERRY!!! WTF do you think they aare going to do , let him run right at the guy????

No, Im sorry, if you show any aggression towards a US Senator, and then resist arrest several times, and continue to yell like that, they used appropriate force to get him to stop after they told him what they were going to do.

Who cares if it was un-civilised, the guy was only using words! He didn't want to leave because as far as he was concerned he was just asking questions. My issue is nothing to do with what he was asking, there were a number of ways those police could have handled that situation, there were six of them against one! Their reaction was wholly unjust, no matter how you spin it, the guy was not posing a physical threat to anyone there, and so should not have been treated that way.

    Tasering hurts.

It doesnt break your limbs, cause significant bruising, or greatly risk even more serious injury.

6 men trying to subdue 1 can lead to greater injury to both the person being subdued and the authorities attempting to stop them.

So even though it makes a good headline- the fact a taser was used probably was far better for his physical well being than attempting to hold him down physically.

Yes he was, he was lunging towards the speaker, then trying to run from the police.

The police dont know if hes a media whore or a school shooter.

It can also be enough to kill some people.

    Has it ever though?

I just searched Google for Taser Kills Person (real scientific) and got no matches indicating that it has actually occurered. I see lots of discussion by Doctor wanna be folks like us discussing if they CAN kill be people... but nothing indicating they have killed anyone.

The thing is Skitch, in my view, the guy should never been approached by the police for apprehension in the first place. And contrary to your rationale in a previous post, they tased him while he was already on the floor and restrained.

I was just debating the general "there were 6 guys to stop him" rationale that was being used, and was pointing out that the taser may have been a safer way for Officers and Perpetrator to complete the arrest.

Maybe you stated it earlier in the thread. Do you have any personal feelings on what you saw go down there?

A guy knew the rules of where he was.
    A guy broke the rules.
A guy was asked to leave.
    A guy wouldnt leave.
    A guy was resisting arrest.
    A guy got tased.

I see no problem with it... but im sure you'll disagree :)
