The F2F prices cannot be lowered once bought. Ticketmaster is lowering their PJ Premium tix that haven’t been sold yet. It’s Ticketmaster’s world and we are just living in it.
tonight: All PJ Premiums will drop to standard by about 4pm, if not earlier.
Chicago 2: some will drop to Standard tomorrow, the rest also by about 4 (if not earlier).
Ft. Worth N1: all those Premiums that dropped today?

With all due respect, I disagree. The band & its mgmt set the price. As Robert Smith indicated, Premium/Platinum is a choice. These tickets would've sold. And that's more fans in the building buying merch, food, and drink.
For many months, these seats sat between the $400-$1k range. I know, because I check every day & every show.
And it's not just me pointing out the ridiculous nature of surge pricing.
A casual (or lapsed) fan probably heard PJ on The Bear one day, went to go look for tickets, and found either overpriced Premiums, or seats they didn't want in the 200's. And said "fuck that".
If they had tiered pricing, they mightve sold the place out tonight. More heads = more $$.
I've yet to have someone justify the fact that rear section seats are the same price as GA & Floor.
Rear seats should start at the $79-89 range. That's better than being unsold.
The goal of any show, whether it's a concert, or a circus, or even wrestling, is to put asses in seats.
The current system didn't exactly get that done (regardless of the musings of a random message board poster like myself).

I understand your theory but Pearl Jam is a business and they successfully sold out this show. Unfortunately, tickets didn't reach all the fans. Next tour Ticketmaster will evaluate the metrics and determine how many tickets will go to the fan club and pricing will be adjusted as a result.

I'm 100% all for tiered pricing though!
The show is close to sold out, but not quite.
Not counting F2F, I count about 94 blue dots on here as of 6pm EST
Even if they were sold at it at the $161.27 rate, that comes out to over $15k in lost revenue.
I'll bet anybody a dollar that almost all of those seats would have sold if they were priced between $129-169. But folks were put off buy the Premium price tag.
All that being said, glad we agree on a tiered system. The band deserves its flowers, and deserves to be well compensated. But the Premium is a little ridiculous.
This is all fixable.

You’re mad someone didn’t pay $1k for their tickets that the person next to them paid $160? GTFO. They can barely go higher than $162 as it is… especially charging that for upper level and behind the stage seats is a bit excessive already. Both St. Paul shows didn’t have great demand and lower level re-sells of $161 tickets went unsold. At some point people are going to stop going.

Bought premium for a Seattle show I was shut out of.
Picked the seats I wanted in Febuary and never had to think about tickets again till May when I pulled them up to get in the door. No regrets ten months later.

But I've been studying this process for almost 3 years now. And what I've learned is that there are often times where we feel like Premium is the only option.

I got shat on in the tour rumors thread for telling new members to only put in for GA and to buy seats closer to show time if you don't get picked. Reason being, you will almost definitely get better seats that way. If your number is higher than 500k I think 10C only provides value for GA tix.

We pay hundreds if not thousands for hotels and flights, but will not reward the boys with an extra Franklin or two as a reward for an awesome career?
Seriously, Go is onto something here. Outside of NY, there are typically plenty of ticket drops week of the shows. This year's garden may be FL, so that one may require premium. Not having an arena setup may limit last minute drops there.
Some of us need the ticket early and pay for covenience. Some of us with mobility issues need to pick the exact seat location that premium tix affords. Different strokes y'all.
But putting the directive, "Don't buy premium..." in the main headline implies it doesn't deserve to be a choice, like it's being protested.
It is a protest of sorts. If people refuse to buy them, premium would cease to exist and prices would drop. People are obviously buying them though for various reasons. It's certainly your right as a consumer but is "feeding the beast"

But putting the directive, "Don't buy premium..." in the main headline implies it doesn't deserve to be a choice, like it's being protested.
It is a protest of sorts. If people refuse to buy them, premium would cease to exist and prices would drop. People are obviously buying them though for various reasons. It's certainly your right as a consumer but is "feeding the beast"
I just don't think it's something to protest nor feeding the beast, it's a sensible option.
Buying 16 variants of the same album on the other hand....
Don't forget Blood records, 17 now.
I agree it's more sensible to spend a few extra bucks than to spend hours or weeks hunting for a deal. But it also doesn't help "the fans" at large in pushing back against outrageous and ever escalating prices

For many months, these seats sat between the $400-$1k range. I know, because I check every day & every show.
And it's not just me pointing out the ridiculous nature of surge pricing.
A casual (or lapsed) fan probably heard PJ on The Bear one day, went to go look for tickets, and found either overpriced Premiums, or seats they didn't want in the 200's. And said "fuck that".
If they had tiered pricing, they mightve sold the place out tonight. More heads = more $$.
I've yet to have someone justify the fact that rear section seats are the same price as GA & Floor.
Rear seats should start at the $79-89 range. That's better than being unsold.
The goal of any show, whether it's a concert, or a circus, or even wrestling, is to put asses in seats.
The current system didn't exactly get that done (regardless of the musings of a random message board poster like myself).

Not counting F2F, I count about 94 blue dots on here as of 6pm EST
Even if they were sold at it at the $161.27 rate, that comes out to over $15k in lost revenue.
I'll bet anybody a dollar that almost all of those seats would have sold if they were priced between $129-169. But folks were put off buy the Premium price tag.
All that being said, glad we agree on a tiered system. The band deserves its flowers, and deserves to be well compensated. But the Premium is a little ridiculous.
This is all fixable.

Picked the seats I wanted in Febuary and never had to think about tickets again till May when I pulled them up to get in the door. No regrets ten months later.
Time and convenience have value too.
But I've been studying this process for almost 3 years now. And what I've learned is that there are often times where we feel like Premium is the only option.
I can assure you it's not.

Seriously, Go is onto something here. Outside of NY, there are typically plenty of ticket drops week of the shows. This year's garden may be FL, so that one may require premium. Not having an arena setup may limit last minute drops there.
Some of us need the ticket early and pay for covenience. Some of us with mobility issues need to pick the exact seat location that premium tix affords. Different strokes y'all.
