I bought tickets on the floor for $125/each through the 10C. When I got on to buy for this tour I got on right at 10am CST. I was number 700 in the queue. Most of hte best seats were already gone. There's no way, right? Not if we get first dibs as 10C members. And then those same tickets on the floor were for $800. So I looked closer on the side, and they were in the $600 range. My first depressed thought was THIS IS NOT PEARL JAM! Ticketmaster wins again. But what’s the trade off? I thought it was to keep tickets low? How does having plat tickets help them secure more fan club tickets?
As a fan base, would we be willing to take what they're selling for platinum, and average those costs amongst all the other seats? IE how much would the other tickets have to go up to offset the extra revenue from platinum. If it was $20 or something extra per ticket. I think I'd rather they ditch platinum and just charge a little more for all the other tickets. Especially with the negative impact it seems to have on 10c seat location.
and some people here complained about the tickets being like $165.00 so adding $20 per ticket is not going to make people happy.0 -
Daily reminder to not buy Premium.
Now that F2F is back up, even if you uncheck PJ Premium in your search, you'll see some re-listed impulse buys & "plans changed" Premium-priced tickets.
If you can justify the cost, knock yourself out. But just make sure you give yourself an extra second or two to look at the price.
I don't plan on paying more than $163 for ANY band right now, unless David Gilmour fired up the ol' Pink Floyd machine, or R.E.M. magically gets back together.PJ - 09/23/98: West Palm Beach II, 08/12/00: Tampa, 04/12/03: Orlando, 04/13/03: Tampa, 06/12/08: Tampa, 06/27/08: Hartford, 09/22/09: Seattle II, 04/11/16: Tampa, 05/01 & 05/02/16: MSG I & II, 09/18/21: Sea Hear Now, 10/01 & 10/02/21: Ohana Encore I & II, 05/06 & 05/07/22: Los Angeles (Inglewood) I & II, 09/11/22: MSG, 09/16/22: Nashville, 09/02/23: St. Paul II, 09/07/23: Chicago II, 09/18 & 09/19/23: Austin I & II, 05/16 & 05/18/24: Las Vegas I & II, 08/29 & 08/31/24: Wrigley Field I & II, 09/03 & 09/04/24: MSG I & II, 09/27 & 09/29/24: Ohana Festival I & IIEV - 08/04 & 08/05/08: (Eddie solo, w/Liam Finn) NYC I & II, 11/27 & 11/28/12: (Eddie solo, w/Glen Hansard) Orlando I & II, 02/09 & 02/10/22: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Chicago I & II, 09/30/23: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Ohana Festival

There’s a lot of good comments on this subject of premium seats. I get it, but I also see it from both sides on the one side the whole music industry is like a monopoly with live nation and Ticketmaster and such but on the other side, Pearl Jam was able to secure so many tickets for the fan club at below market prices, and I know a lot of people say 165 is expensive but they could easily sell those pit tickets GA tickets for 500 bucks apiece so on the other side of that Pearl Jam is leaving millions of dollars on the table if they just use dynamic pricing for the whole arena like so many other bands so if they got to let 10% go to premium but 90% is going at face value and the majority of that 90% is going to the fan club I think it’s just the way it’s gotta be I myself am extremely grateful that they are playing shows and getting so many tickets into the fan club. Like I said it might seem expensive, but 165 is a pretty good deal for Pearl Jam compared to other bands. I look at blink-182 tickets for Sacramento and good seats are going for 1000 bucks and the worst in the house is still going for 120 so 165 is a pretty good deal for a Pearl Jam in my opinion like I said, I believe they are leaving millions of dollars on the table for fan club members to get tickets and I think that’s pretty cool0

If you're planning for Dallas (be it N1 or N2, or both), you're gonna want to watch the F2F thread here in The Porch, and look for fellow 10c members posting about tickets for Ft. Worth in the Given to Fly section ("FS/FT FTW N1, SEC XX, ROW XX" or GA, or Floor).
Hopefully, between now & September, you'll come across a fan who can't make it. Then you can set up a time of your choosing where they list them for sale, and you pounce on the tix via the Ticketmaster app.
If you're waiting for PJ Premium to drop down to regular price, that'll be the afore mentioned last minute change. Last year, that's what happened to the remaining unsold Premiums on the day of each show.
Also, most venues have production holds from the band that are released on the day. Some on ticketmaster, some directly at the venue box office. So, there are a bunch of ways to get in without dropping $320 - $912 a ticket!

But I don't think any band deserves to be lauded for leaving money on the table. They're not hurting.
Each show will make a few million. Tickets, merch, parking, vending, and Club level/Premium experiences. The band will get paid, the crew will get paid, and all their families will be secure.
And that's just with regular priced tickets. I measure how much I want to see a band by the price Pearl Jam sets. At this juncture, I wouldn't pay more than $163 to see any artist (save for a magical reunion of legends who called it a day).
The band doesn't NEED PJ Premium. All that money is going to go to two places: Pearl Jam's LLC, or their philanthropic endeavors. And, while not a guarantee, the majority of fans buying Premium are pretty well off. And the band is more than happy to take that extra revenue & put it towards some good causes. And bless 'em for it.
But the flip side of that, is WE don't need PJ Premium either. We have this board. And all summer to fish around on F2F (when it's turned on). If you really want to find a way into one of these shows, you will. This board will help.
That's what I advocate for. There's no need to panic, and buy overpriced seats that some 40 or 50-something who just wants to hear the hits is willing to pay. As we speak, singles & pairs of those seats are getting bought. And hopefully that person gets their money's worth!
But if they can't make it to the show for whatever reason... hoo boy, are they gonna have a hard time moving those tickets. Because you CAN'T lower the price. The system won't let you.
And that lack of freedom & flexibility, is why I keep repeating myself:

And that lack of freedom & flexibility, is why I keep repeating myself:
don't buy Premium.
That, or you give someone the ticket for free & throw them your TM log-in.
You can't lower the price as incentive. And many fans ate ticket costs last year because of it.
Its in both last year's F2F thread, my 2022 price tracking thread, and a few pissed off threads that were closed due to the subject already existing.
I care, because no one on this boards NEEDS to pay that much. There's a false sense of supply & demand going on here. And that creates an aura of panic where someone who really wants to go to a show is often presented with a scenario where either Premium is the only way in, or the only way to get good seats.
It's not.
TM is posting & pulling batches of seats on the regular, and I've already seen some Premiums drop in price. I check every day & take notes for my other thread.
And so far, the pattern is just like last year. Premiums slowly drop in price as we get closer to day of show. And by then, great seats are no longer marked up. The demand evens out in favor of the fan/consumer.
For right now, giving in to that sense of panic, with regular price already cutting it close to their budget, is not something I like seeing fellow fans go through. We're not all well off, here.
So I advocate for the most cost-efficient option to see our favorite band: this message board, and by proxy, F2F.

Especially with the negative impact it seems to have on 10c seat location.
and some people here complained about the tickets being like $165.00 so adding $20 per ticket is not going to make people happy.Post edited by SHZA on0 -

I look at blink-182 tickets for Sacramento and good seats are going for 1000 bucks and the worst in the house is still going for 120 so 165 is a pretty good deal for a Pearl Jam in my opinion like I said, I believe they are leaving millions of dollars on the table for fan club members to get tickets and I think that’s pretty cool
And that lack of freedom & flexibility, is why I keep repeating myself:
don't buy Premium.Post edited by SHZA on0 -

A prime example of why having 14,000 10c seats isn't a good thing.0 -
Had they employed something like this at the United Center, I do believe there would be fewer disappointed people. The 300 level should have been its own option, much like rear stage was.
From Wrigley 2013:Chicago ticket info: Due to the size of this baseball park, there will be 3 different ticket options. Prices vary. You may enter the drawing for as many ticket options as you like, but you can only be drawn for one pair of tickets to this show. Reserved seats will be assigned based on seniority.GA Pit tickets: These are general admission standing tickets and are located on the floor immediately in front of the stage. The GA section is allocated for fan club members only; therefore there will not be a Ten Club early entry for this section.Reserved Field/ Lower Bowl: Reserved seating on the field and lower bowl.Reserved Upper Box: Reserved seating in the upper box, lower ticket price.___________________________________________

I would've been fine with the following for United Center:
$249 - GA
$219 - front & aisle Floors
$199 - all other Floors, Mike & Stone side 100's
$179 - all other stage facing 100's
$165 - rear & side lower 100's, 1st 3 rows of 200's
- - all 10c eligible - -
$149 - all other stage facing 200's, 1st 3 rows of 300's
$129 - all other stage facing 300's
$99 - rear & side 300's (at $165, the Chicago shows will not sell out unless they block off the remainder of these seats)
No need for Premium at all. The ONLY upside to Premium/dynamic pricing, is all the unsold seats will revert to $163 on day of show, as opposed to the prices I gamed out above.
I mentioned earlier that PJ determines how much I pay for ANY concert. If I could get guaranteed GA or Floors for $220-$250 a ticket, I'd move my mark.
Until then, $165 it is (barring a Pink Floyd sans Roger tour, R.E.M., or a Nirvana/Foo Fighters tour with guest vocalists & drummers)PJ - 09/23/98: West Palm Beach II, 08/12/00: Tampa, 04/12/03: Orlando, 04/13/03: Tampa, 06/12/08: Tampa, 06/27/08: Hartford, 09/22/09: Seattle II, 04/11/16: Tampa, 05/01 & 05/02/16: MSG I & II, 09/18/21: Sea Hear Now, 10/01 & 10/02/21: Ohana Encore I & II, 05/06 & 05/07/22: Los Angeles (Inglewood) I & II, 09/11/22: MSG, 09/16/22: Nashville, 09/02/23: St. Paul II, 09/07/23: Chicago II, 09/18 & 09/19/23: Austin I & II, 05/16 & 05/18/24: Las Vegas I & II, 08/29 & 08/31/24: Wrigley Field I & II, 09/03 & 09/04/24: MSG I & II, 09/27 & 09/29/24: Ohana Festival I & IIEV - 08/04 & 08/05/08: (Eddie solo, w/Liam Finn) NYC I & II, 11/27 & 11/28/12: (Eddie solo, w/Glen Hansard) Orlando I & II, 02/09 & 02/10/22: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Chicago I & II, 09/30/23: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Ohana Festival

I can’t believe people are advocating for less 10 Club tickets. That’s just stupid. They are the same people who bitch ( rightfully so) about Ticketmaster but want to give more tickets to Ticketmaster and take out of the 10 Club allotment, seriously people?
