Also don’t think anyone actually thinks that.
Aside from the 195% part, which was the joke, there are tons of people out there that believe that they will be just fine without the vaccine.
I am hoping that I don't have to get the vaccine.

Why?  How quick the vaccine was made and wondering about any side effects.  I would rather not be the person calling that 1800 hotline 10 years from now after watching on TV the "Did you take the blah blah vaccine for Covid in 2020?  If so you may be entitled to compensation."

I'll follow the science though and if/when I can get it, everyone is fine, I'll get it.
    Here's some science!

Yes, this is how they got to 95% efficacy.
Its interesting math, basically used 11 vs 185 to get the 94.1% efficacy rate, but 11 out of 15,000 is well over 99% effective, of course we don't know exposure level in that case, but either way the numbers are extremely positive in keeping folks negative.

Also interesting math is a country with a population of roughly 38 million ordering 418 million vaccine doses.

Just in case they need to vaccinate everyone at least 5 times...assuming this is the 2 dose vaccine.

the thing that worries me is, what if this thing mutates and is just as contagious and lethal? like mutates to the point that this vaccine will be ineffective over time?

I read up on the both of them and the Moderna seems to be easier to transport as it doesn't have to be stored at such crazy temps as the pfizer one.

    I'm still holding out.

unfortunately, people saying "I'm pretty much home all the time anyway" is a big part of the problem with this virus. all it takes is one 15 minute trip to the store or work or anywhere indoors and you can potentially infect yourself or hundreds of others.

pretty much the same as people claiming they can speed or drive high, but others shouldn't, because they know what they're doing.

covid complacency/arrogance is a real thing.
Well, for me it’s just that. Going for a walk or to doc appointments.

(And I think driving while impaired is stupid as fuck.)

Yep.  Outside of doctors and some curbside pickup (I pop trunk, they put it in.  I carry to my garage, wash my hands, leave there for 3 days) I have done next to nothing since March.  All groceries are delivered and glove handled - quarantine for 3 days OR clean off with food clean or package cleaner.  A few exceptions (kid-related, mostly, like the silly Santa thing I shared) and all were at distance/mask/wash the heck up after touching anything.
    Running.  Hiking.

Driving impaired is stupid as fuck, I agree, and anyone caught high/drunk should have major punishment on first offense.  It is not OK to kill others for your own good time.

Hedo, your picture should go in the mail this week.  :)

    The Bad.

the thing that worries me is, what if this thing mutates and is just as contagious and lethal? like mutates to the point that this vaccine will be ineffective over time?

I wonder how much vaccine will be wasted by people who don't go back for dose 2. I remember getting the hepatitis vaccine a long time ago and never went back for my second dose. It was so long ago, I don't remember why.  Does anyone know if there's a system to monitor compliance? It would help if all the celebrities film their second dose in addition to the first, to reinforce the importance of that.
