I can't believe I'm flying out to Denver for the game this weekend to watch a backup QB and RB play. Shit! It will still be a good time, but not expecting much from the game.

Just be thankful it was only a sprained MCL, although it still sounds like he will miss up to a month.
this season is going to shit.
:x
on the upside, the offense should be pretty potent next season...the O line seems to be playing decent, and will improve with the return on of Chris Williams and a the Rookie RT.
only concern is, how many years does the D have left in it. I can see them making some serious noise next year.
of course, they can still sneak into the playoffs this year, but at best, they might win one game.

I would really like to see them go after another OL during the offseason. They def. made some improvements and adjustments but they are still a crappy line. They desperately need a WR. I don't know what the upcoming draft field has for WRs but other than Bennett, we don't have any solid WRs.
I think you're right about the defense. I actually think it'll start changing up after this season. Briggs is all but gone as we all know the Bears won't pay him. Urlacher will probably be around and playing (barring injury) for another 2-3 years. Peanut is getting old, but still plays solid. Jennings is ok, but could be replaced. The safeties need serious help.
just clicked. i'm going to assume he is a denver fan.
Good assumption! I will be at the Bears game in Denver... I'm looking forward to Cutler getting booed and then lighting up that sorry ass excuse for a team!!!
My My, how things have changed... "Sorry a$$ excuse for a team" favored by 4. What does that make your team? Oh yeah, Welcome to Denver! Make sure to wear your jersey

Haine isn't the long term answer from a starter position....he's a friggen back up behind a "franchise" qb.
if anything, i'd go out and find a more seasoned backup qb for the future (they tried to do that with orton), but you don't go and sign a washed up guy and expect him to come in and save the season. McNabb is done, Favre is done. at this pint, you ride Haine and see if he can be that long term backup that you are looking for. and it takes more than his first 2 starts to find that out.

youre thinking ahead and thats fine but the bears still have a chance to make the playoffs...
i say sign favre or mcnabb and see if they can get you there...then hand the reigns to jay when he gets healthy and see what happens..
but ya, this offseason- a good backup qb should be a priority.

Favre was done last year...dude can't play in the cold and he makes horrible decisions when is he is upright
McNabb has lost it since leaving Philly.
and on top of that, you don't sign a guy off the street and toss him into the fray.....we saw that with a Todd Collins last year, and we saw what happened out in Oakland this year for a qb that was signed mid season and tossed into the first.

Not surprising, but I'd still rather see him holding the clipboard than McCown.
he looked and sounded very desperate during last night's interview at halftime of the thus night game. it was a good career, DM
Yep, that about sums it up.
Hey Roy Williams, catch the fucking ball! No idea why they signed that piece of shit. What a fucking mess.
If true,
Season...
Over!

Who needs four?
According to espn, favre would listen to da bears if they called...
unless, hanie is still their man:
Caleb Hanie 29/60 387yrs 48.3 comp% 2td 6int 40.8 rtg 0-2 rec
