No I didn't say it....what I was saying is they still get to do basic enjoyable things while locked inside 4 walls. Things you don't get to do while you are dead.....like their victims.
and oddly enough they have cocaine and heroin and weed and everything else.
plus they make homemade booze all hidden in some closet or behind some wall someplace.
Whatever, if a guy rapes, beats, and murders a 5 year old little girl and leaves her in a ditch to rot, I feel the guy should die. And some feel he should go to prison and hope he gets raped. Good night!

Nicolas Cocaign killed his cellmate and ate his lung.
A French prisoner killed his cellmate and devoured his lung after authorities ignored appeals for psychological assistance, he told a court as his trial opened Monday.
Nicolas Cocaign, 39, told judges in the northern city of Rouen that he had had a long history of mental problems even before he sliced open his victim, ripped out his lung and fried it on a makeshift stove in their cell.
"No one was listening to me," the bearded and tattooed detainee told the court. "I made several appeals for help, saying I was a man capable of being dangerous. I took action, and then they took me seriously."
Cocaign is charged with killing cellmate Thierry Baudry in January 2007 by punching and kicking him, stabbing him with a pair of scissors and suffocating him with a rubbish bag.
Prosecutors say he sliced open Baudry's chest with a razor blade, removed a rib and pulled out an organ which he at first believed to be the man's heart, but which in fact was a lung.
He is said to have eaten part of the lung raw and then fried the rest of it with some onions.
Under interrogation before the trial, Cocaign said he had turned cannibal because he wanted to take the victim's soul, but in court today he stressed his troubled background and mental instability.
Born in 1971, he was abandoned by his 21-year-old homeless mother and cared for by the state until he was adopted aged three. From the age of six he was already under the care of a psychologist.
Reports from his childhood suggest he had difficulty telling right from wrong and his mental difficulties worsened when he was allegedly raped, aged 13. After this he developed "violent sexual compulsions".
He was convicted of drug possession at age 22 and was later hospitalised on several occasions with mental illness. He complained to the court that he was not given drug treatment after release, despite asking for it.
"My compulsions were still there, so ..." he said.
Mental health experts are to testify during the course of the trial this week as to whether Cocaign was sufficiently sane to face criminal charge for his acts. A verdict is expected on Thursday.

so how about we put some mentally challenged kid that beat his little sister to death thinking he was just playing around but in reality he beat her to death?
I just can't fathom your line of thinking. It's literally what's wrong with this world.

This thread is sad. So much hatred & agression. It must be painful to go through life this way. It's bad for the soul. Regardless of the criminal, we should learn forgiveness for ourselves and our own well-being. Hatred & violence doesn't get us anywhere, as individuals or as a society. I agree that this is what's wrong with our world.
The death penalty is barbaric, and most evolved, civilized societies have realized this already. Once we believe it's okay to kill another person against his/her will, there is very little difference between us and the murderers. Everyone thinks their reason for killing is a good one - yet we're so quick to condemn the reasons of others, including other governments who use the death penalty. It's just amazing to me that we can think that we are SO different & so obviously right but others are so obviously wrong. Killing for "good" reason is such a slippery slope.

...
i used to be for the death penalty... using a lot of the opinions expressed here as to why it in necessary.
Then, i read about a Death Row inmate who was exonerated by new DNA Evidence. And innocent man spend time in prison... on Death Row... for a crime he did not commit. The Police and District Attorney's Office stacked the deck against him to close the case because of its heinous nature. It was a political issue based upon the D.A.'s conviction rate and the lead detective's desire for a promotion.
I also asked myself if i could ever deliver the leathal dose to end another person's life... even one who was guilty of a horrible crime. My answer was, NO. So, I thought... how can I support something I could never go through with?
Now, don't get me wrong, I am totally a law and order type of person that strongly believes justice and punishment are in order for those who are truely guilty. I know the maximum security prisons are horrible places and suitable punishment for horrible people.
And thinking about the lessons Jesus Christ teaches... I somehow do not believe Jesus would ever argue for Capital punishment based upon monetary savings. He just doesn't strike me as that kind of guy.

know that i respect your opinion
the only thing sad here is the original murder
forgiveness is for everything except murder
you say
"Once we believe it's okay to kill another person against his/her will, there is very little difference between us and the murderers"
i say
once a person kills another person, that is their will, their decision in life, in my book when they murder, they decide their own fate to be executed, not us.

Oh man could I take this thread in a different direction.
Again, I see your point. I just disagree. Someone that has the ability to kill a child is capable of just about anything. I don't see the reason to keep them around and see if they do something in the future. And I never said that I'm right and anyone's wrong. It's just how I know I feel about it, right or wrong.
hey man, just trying to figure out where your "right to kill" ideals end. You said in the beginning "ALL murderers", so I was just asking a question. I don't need help with my stance. Your posts are all I need!

not everyone has a right to life.
a monster does not have the right to life.
If we're talking about rights.....I do not believe that anyone has the right to end the life of another. For any reason.
what rights does a child have that is murdered at the hands of a raving lunatic?
and when i say murdered, i mean murdered only after being tortured, burned with cigarettes, force fed dog food and raped for a week or so.
this is a monster, a maniac who deserve a swift bullet to the skull. i myself refuse to breathe the same air as this hate filled piece of trash.
this is the problem. you can't justify killing because of killing. tell me how you feel about someone being convicted who didn't do the crime. is it enough to justify the use of the death penalty? and you once said that if your brother was a filthy criminal, you'd support him being put to death. however, what if you believed he was being wrongfully accused and put to death. would you still support the death penalty then?
