My guess... you'll get the typical anwers I have heard...
"Look at yourself... the miracle of you is evidence of God's existance". That's usually the first explanation.
Then, you'll ask, "Okay... humans... like you and me... and Adolph Hitler and Usama Bin Laden and serial murderer/cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer... we're all the results of God's perfect hand.
And they'll fall back on that Free Will stuff and Satan and original sins.
    ...
Eventually, they'll get to the Bible an Creation and that original sin... to which you'll ask, they base their 'scientific evindence and logical reasoning' on stories where Woman was created from a Man's rib... and Man's downfall is attributed to a talking snake???
    ...
    To which you'll get...
    ...
    more silence.

thats like saying a dead body is unequivocal evidence of murder.

ask any cosmologist what keeps the universe together

Cosmologist or cosmetologists? I think you are confusing Astronomy with Astrology. Astronomy works within the confines of the physical sciences... Astrology includes the supernatural and really has no science about it at all.

    Another question...
I hear people say, 'God is this incredible, perfect entity that is completely beyond the comphrehension of all of Mankind'... How can those people claim to 'Know God'? If He is beyond all that we know or even our ability to comprehend... how come they know? Are they not a part of Mankind? Are they claiming to be on God's level?

Astronomy, a cosmologist, and I think you are confusing fortune cookie writing with a hairstylist, cosmetologist. Any astronomer or scientist who goes on emperical evidence would tell you they have no clue how the universe, before the big bang, came into being. Nor do they have an explaination to the amazment of fine tuning this universe possesses for life to even exist.

Give me an example of anything we observe in nature that gives emperical evidence of random chance creating things without purpose.

A supernatural force is evil. Explain to me what evil is?

God told us through men who witnessed God buring bushes, bringing about plagues on rulers, men rising from the dead and walking on water, or seeing 2 men of history on a mountain with Jesus who are in heaven. They all claim countlessly how inferior they are to God when they convey these messages. They know because He showed them. Science knows there are things completely beyond its comprehension and people buy it like I buy God.

Since the beginning there has been truth and lie
    worldly truth
    godly truth
mans nature is basically good man is sinful/evil and separated from God
random chance is creator God is creator
self realization leads to denying of ones self leads to happieness
    happieness
jesus was a good prophet jesus was part God/man sent as a sacrifice to cover mans sinful nature
tolerance of peoples beliefs there is only one belief

I find it strange that everyone tolerates islam, materialisim and scientific beliefs but when it comes down to the one belief that God himself says is truth people have no tolerance for it. You dont want to hear anything a Christian has to say about your life. Where is the tolerance there?

  • Well, for anybody who believes in God: The bible says, God made us all like himself. So to me this means that were all our very own God. But as I do not believe in God and/or anything the bible tells, I'd say that I am the maker of my own destiny. It all comes down to the same thing: everything depends on my actions and reactions and surely not of some punishing old bearded guy up there.

And by the way: Has anyone heard what MJK has to say about the bible? I'm totally the same opinion: If you read the bible, the first it says is, that in the beginning there was the word and the word was God. But it actually was written down as "In the beginning was the word and the word was Jahwe or Jehovah" and Jahwe/Jehovah means light or love. So if you say the in the beginning was the word and the word was love" you can close the book, cause everything you need for a peacful living has been said.

death is a result of our sinful nature. God doesnt kill or keep people from dying. The evil one made that disease that existed outside of the garden or made that guy drink before he got behind the wheel not God.

Explain what evil is because I assure you it isnt God. For one you accuse God of evil that would mean you believe in his existance. Then I would ask would an evil God make the choice to receive torture, public humiliation and 1000's of years of people like you telling him hes evil if he was evil?

The moment of the Big Bang and previous to it (whatever that is... a void of space and time) is completely mysterious, actually. Nobody has any idea.

What did you think we spend BILLION of dollars for when we build particle accelerators? The whole fucking idea is to recreate the moment of the big bang to get a glimpse of what happened and what existed "before" the big bang.

Ok... I've gotta go now my blood pressure is too high.

Lets all try to post honest truths instead of propaganda to suit our agenda of proselytization either for the "I know He exists" goal of "I know he does not exist" goal.

I can tolerate anyone, christian, islamic, scientist, or even a hairstylist/cosmetologist, as long as they don't try to tell me their way is the only way. it's like talking to a brick wall, and it accomplishes nothing. no offense, but it's like talking to a spoiled child that always gets their way.

it's very rare to find a christian, in my experiences, that can have a logical discussion and admit it's POSSIBLE that god doesn't exist. for some reason that admission would shake them to their very core, and it would make you vulnerable to the point you couldn't take it. how dare you question god? then he might punish you!

I can admit that it's entirely possible all of science has it wrong, and we really have no freaking clue how the cosmos began. it's happened several times in history. but that's the purpose of science, as stated many times before, to find out the truth as understood at this point in time.

you tolerate materialism, as you obviously own a computer. you are saying you DON'T tolerate islam?? how loving and non-judgemental of you.

my statement above was an example of how I think it is ludicrous that someone could come to believe in god because his friend died tragically.

Yes I dont think you are understanding Gods nature as opposed to human nature.

gods nature = good and perfect
    human nature = evil/sinful

The friend would have died whether God intervened or not. For Him to intervene would be unjustly letting someone off the hook of being a sinner and bound by death. If he did one he would have to do all, ie Hitler, Manson. Since evil exists as a result of our sinful nature God uses those times to send the Spirit to bring us to God. God didnt make sin and death, we did.

What is evil?? Please answer this.

  • a god who kills (or lets die) someone in a car crash so that his friend will become a believer.

death is a result of our sinful nature. God doesnt kill or keep people from dying. The evil one made that disease that existed outside of the garden or made that guy drink before he got behind the wheel not God.

Explain what evil is because I assure you it isnt God. For one you accuse God of evil that would mean you believe in his existance. Then I would ask would an evil God make the choice to receive torture, public humiliation and 1000's of years of people like you telling him hes evil if he was evil?

no, I don't believe in his existence, and that's exactly the reason why. my belief would be that if there was a god, some of the things that happens on earth wouldn't. But maybe I misinterpret what you would say is god's ability in all of this. does he know what's going to happen in day to day life? does he have the ability to stop something from happening/make something happen?

my statement above was an example of how I think it is ludicrous that someone could come to believe in god because his friend died tragically.

Please answer this.[/quote]

as far as I'm concerned, the only evil that exists in the world comes from man himself. I'm guessing that is what you were driving at?
