Yeah I agree
I went to the vatican way back in 94 to check out the sisteen ( spelling ) chapell. that was good but the amount of wealth that hangs in that building is just fucking criminal. they can have billions of dollars hanging on the walls but put their hand out at every service and ask for donations.live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -

This is actual proof of the Big Bang in action and the universe in its growth. This is actual fact, not a story written by humans or passed along by humans. Care to explain?

Also, we've proved the earth is an estimated 5 billion yrs old. This does not match what religion says. But if you would like to talk about one specific issue, how about the dinosaurs? It's the easiest and most blatantly red hering which has zero place in religion, the bible, god or genesis. Do you deny the existence of dinosaurs as a practicing Christian?? And if you do/don't, please give us your specific rational for the existence (or not) of dinosaurs and all the fossils we have from them.cornnifer wrote:1,000,001? Thats pretty impressive indeed. It should be very simple then to post one. i don't mind which scientific discipline you choose from. i'm still interested in hearing a "scientific fact that disproves God".
You mentioned the fossil record, for example. Is this the same fossil record that Charles Darwin himself said, if his theory on human origin was correct, would produce thousands of transitional species yet, to date hasn't really produced any? The same fossil record that evolutionary paleontologists once used Archaeopteryx as the capstone to prove a Darwinian origin, until fossils of ACTUAL birds that PREDATED Archaeopteryx forced them to reassess? Is it the same fossil record darwinian paleontologists had all mapped out until last year's discovery of Ardipithicus Ramidus once again has them scratching their collective head. "well... um... we... uh... FUCK!"
i believe you also alluded to archeology, astronomy, and cosmology. Again, i'm not being condescending and i don't care which of your "million and one facts" you choose from whichever scientific discipline you choose. i'm just interested in one.
The Bible refers to many the common animals we know today. The list includes lions, wolves, bears, sheep, cattle and dogs along with various kinds of birds, rodents, reptiles, and insects. What is interesting is that this extensive list includes three animals that we no longer recognize. These three are (in the original Hebrew language) tanniyn, b@hemowth (yes, it’s spelled correctly—at least as close as we can get in Roman characters), and livyathan.
Although we alter the spelling of behemoth and Leviathan slightly, we still use those same words in bibles today. However, tanniyn is always translated into another word when we write it in English. Tanniyn occurs 28 times in the Bible and is normally translated “dragon.” It is also translated “serpent,” “sea monster,” “dinosaur,” “great creature,” and “reptile.” Behemoth and Leviathan are relatively specific creatures, perhaps each was a single kind of animal. Tanniyn is a more general term, and it can be thought of as the original version of the word “dinosaur.” The word “dinosaur” was originally coined in 1841, more than three thousand years after the Bible first referred to “Tanniyn.” To make things clearer, we constructed the following table comparing the scientific names with the Biblical names tanniyn, behemoth, and Leviathan.
“Dinosaur” Names, Then and Now
Name and date first written in the Bible Scientific Name (best estimate) and date the name appeared
tanniyn (dragon) before 1400 BC dinosaur 1841 AD
behemoth before 1400 BC brachiosaurus 1903 AD
Leviathan before 1400 BC kronosaurus 1901 ADMember 164xxx

We all need something to have strong belief/faith in. Whatever that thing/being is, just let it be. We are no more right or more justified in our beliefs than somebody who has faith in something else. Thousands of years of people dying over this shit. Is that what YOUR God wanted? If so, is he/she really setting the moral compass that you want to rule your life by? I am Wiccan, which is not even a recognized religion in this country- as a matter of fact, most people think it's a joke. Well, stick this in your pipe. THE rule that we live by is "Harm thee none, do what thy will" in other words, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or anything else, do what you want. We also accept people for who they are and whatever religion they choose to follow. We don't try to "convert" them, we just accept. Does that sound like a joke? or does "religious war"?wallscriber@14too0

he was entering his early teens.
We as a family lived the lesson that it is fear that causes people to ridicule others belief system.
Fear of what one does not know nor care to understand.
It is man who causes war, not God nor even a religion. It is man fearing another
man's beliefs and the power it brings.Post edited by pandora on0 -

it brought painful memories though...
ones that should not ever be forgotten.
It brought yet again to me 'people are so incredibly disappointing'
this for the pain they weld. This for their lack of empathy and understanding.
But also the strength that comes from living just that.
My son is stronger for the people he has overcome.0 -
