By Absolute Truth... i didn't mean One True Religion... I meant there is either a God... or there isn't.
The only Truths we know are things we find in math, i.e. 1 + 1 = 2. There is no debating this (although some people will try to fool you with combinations of equations that appear to have different results... usually by combining seperate equations).
As for philisophical debate... the truth is... We don't know if there is a God or not. People will tell you they KNOW... but, I know they don't know... they Believe. The same goes for the after life. We don't know what happens because no one has died... completely... dead for 3 or 4 days... and come back. The Absolute Truth in this question is there is an after life or there is not. Death is a passage we all will take... a passage into another level of conscienceness or a passage into a void. All we really know... as a fact... that death will visit us all. We don't know what's on the other side of that passageway. We may believe in Heaven and Hell... but, really... we don't know.

I believe that does God a great disservice. The God I believe in loves, unconditionally... same as the way I love my cats. You all still dont understand Gods nature. He is good and perfect and cant even stand the sight or presence of sin. We are sinful by nature, not by God but by our own choice. Think of it as a man standing in the sun. I'm not saying but this is but for sake of example God is the sun. God is light. Evil is darkness. Man cant stand in the the light and not cast a shadow. Sin is our constant shadow that follows and plagues us. We cant be in the presence of God without a renewing of the mind and spirit. A cleansing of the sin through God's own sacrifice. Death allows us to be in Gods presence after we shed our worldly bodies.

People may be born into the religion but its God who sends the Holy Spirit to actually convict the heart in a way where the person WANTS to follow God. You will never be at a place where God will want you unless you want Him.

By Absolute Truth... i didn't mean One True Religion... I meant there is either a God... or there isn't.
The only Truths we know are things we find in math, i.e. 1 + 1 = 2. There is no debating this (although some people will try to fool you with combinations of equations that appear to have different results... usually by combining seperate equations).
As for philisophical debate... the truth is... We don't know if there is a God or not. People will tell you they KNOW... but, I know they don't know... they Believe. The same goes for the after life. We don't know what happens because no one has died... completely... dead for 3 or 4 days... and come back. The Absolute Truth in this question is there is an after life or there is not. Death is a passage we all will take... a passage into another level of conscienceness or a passage into a void. All we really know... as a fact... that death will visit us all. We don't know what's on the other side of that passageway. We may believe in Heaven and Hell... but, really... we don't know.

I believe that does God a great disservice. The God I believe in loves, unconditionally... same as the way I love my cats. They don't do as I say... they don't come when i call... and all i ever seem to buy on a regular basis in cat food and kitty litter... but, I love them. But god is like anything else in life that makes you happy; it's personal, it's uplifting, it smiles at you when you are up, and it helps you when you are down. My god is not your god.

I feel that Faith is a good thing. Faith comforts us in trying times.

I used to sit around and think about awkward situations that might pop up
like say you were married and your spouse dies so you remarry then both of you die....does your first spouse hook up with you for a threesome or is somebody left out?
the best one I thought up was a situation where husband is cheating on wife without her knowledge....he dies and goes to "heaven" (even though he was an adulterer he accepted Jesus for his sins so that was ok....he could have been a murderer too and that would be ok as well) then when his mistress dies (before wife) she hooks up with him in heaven.....then wife (who at this point isn't afraid to die because she knows she will hook up with her husband in heaven) dies and catches him with that other chick

I have been living with faith for a long time now,I regulary speak with God(no I don't sit with him over coffee)
although he is with me every day and he has worked some great miricals in my life.
