As far as horses and oxen are concerned, i'm not quite following your line of reason. As you yourself say, bipeds have lived ALONGSIDE quadripeds. i know your not suggesting humans descended FROM horses and oxen. ALONGSIDE works for me. You'll get no argument there.

She would simply be the first bipedal hominid in the line after some type of early ape. She actually bridges the gap perfectly, cause she was bipedal on the ground and quadrupedal while climbing through the trees.
Seems to strengthen the argument of evolution.

this is a good article that sheds some light on the issue. it seems to point to the fact that Ardi is a human ancestor, but of course, it's still too early to tell for sure. I'm sure this will be debated between those in the science community for a long time.

No I dont believe we evolved from apes the way scientific THEORY tries to explain it. I believe this. God is outside of any knowledge we perceive. He by his own scientific experimentation if you will, started "let there be light, a big bang but not what science thinks of the BB. Then with the elements, snowballed them into the galaxies and planets then single celled life. Snowballed it into animals and then eventually perfected all his experimentation to create us. It has been useful in guiding political decisions. The further back in time you go, it was also useful in guiding scientific thought. It is and was very useful in supplanting reality. Something lasts through the ages not because it THE TRUTH but because it is the bomb, the Useful Bomb. Why have shoes been passed down through the ages? They are not the truth, but is true that they shelter your feet all while giving the wearer a je ne sais quois. The Bible shelters our deepest hopes...spiritual, political and psychological. It gives believers a certain je ne said quoi that sets them apart from nonbelievers. Useful. Very useful.

yes, it changes everything. by everything, from my understanding, they mean the idea that there was a missing link, as the article states above, which was a notion that was POPULAR since Darwin's time, it was not posited as fact. It was merely thought of based on the knowledge or lack thereof that we had at the time.
Ardi is that missing link, they just didn't expect it to be that type of missing link.

How about the findings, which were reported on roughly one week ago, of tetrapod (four legged vertebrate) footprints that predate the long insisted upon by Darwinian theorists date for land creatures by, get this, 18 million years!! What is the significance of this? It is a complete paradigm breaker. It completely destroys long insisted upon dates. It completely shakes up the Darwinian model. It causes more metaphorical hair pulling.

The way I look at it is science and religion are just 2 fingers on the hand of understanding and enlightenment. The theory of evolution has holes and things that I doubt but also has things that I can see how man has labeled the work of God by science. By the way I work in the field of biology and comparative medicine, hence the baboons, so I do infact have somewhat of a basic knowledge of science and anthropology.
He didnt quit experimenting with us!! Look at the cosmos, billions of galaxies and creations, certainly not the best he can do just the best on this particular canvas.
Why do you believe in gravity? You cant see it. Yes you can measure it by mans interpretation and understanding but I say I can God as well by thousands of years of mans understanding. Not to mention my own measure in my life and others.

Merely presenting what I believe is fact. I'm not trying to convert, just debate. As a follower we are called to get the story out there. Maybe I've failed in the way it was presented but I'm just a man. No man made me believe they just presented to me the fact and God grabbed my soul. I now feel it physically and spiritually its real to me. Not like an imaginary friend a kid has to help him cope with not having real friends but real. I feel the Spirit touch me at times. It sends chills down my spine. God is the god of energy. I have faith He exists because I feel it. I cant see it but I most definitely feel it. Its indescribable. You all say you believed at a time but you obviously didnt truely connect because once you have it you never want to lose it. This is the physical evidence that makes me believe.
What I ment by mans understanding is the Bible, the giving up of many many peoples own lives because of this feeling. Before Christ what was writen and prophesied about his coming and then is teachings after he came. Is see and feel truth in them. These things still live on because people feel the truth and believe it. If everything I'm saying about God is true then he is outside of law and science. I didnt turn the switch on I was called by God and answered the call and through that I gain infinite knowlegde in a world plagued by the finite.

Something gets passed down through the ages because it is useful. Humans select what they like and what they psychologically need. The Bible has had a multitude of uses, from uniting a particular downtrodden tribe to uniting very disparate people who feel downtrodden but would prefer to think of themselves as chosen. It has also been used to give groups a moral blank check to do what they wanted, as they could interpret that what they wanted was in fact God's will and not their own. It has been useful in guiding political decisions. The further back in time you go, it was also useful in guiding scientific thought. It is and was very useful in supplanting reality. Something lasts through the ages not because it THE TRUTH but because it is the bomb, the Useful Bomb. Why have shoes been passed down through the ages? They are not the truth, but is true that they shelter your feet all while giving the wearer a je ne sais quois. The Bible shelters our deepest hopes...spiritual, political and psychological. It gives believers a certain je ne said quoi that sets them apart from nonbelievers. Useful. Very useful.

yes, it changes everything. by everything, from my understanding, they mean the idea that there was a missing link, as the article states above, which was a notion that was POPULAR since Darwin's time, it was not posited as fact. It was merely thought of based on the knowledge or lack thereof that we had at the time.
Ardi is that missing link, they just didn't expect it to be that type of missing link.
