Do the Evolution/Sleep Now in the Fire
Has anybody else noticed the lyrical similarity between these two songs? First person sung by a supposed rich person not caring about the destruction they leave in their path. DTE came out in 1998 and Sleep Now in the Fire came out in 1999 - I wonder if De La Rocha had some influence from DTE.

Any Powderfinger fans out there?
Tons and tons of great bands that have come out of Australia, but none better than Powderfinger IMO. They have an awesome catalog worth listening to (start with Double Allergic and move forward). I was super lucky to see them twice, once in Philadelphia and once in St.Louis during a very rare USA tour back in 2001. My…

Negative Critiques Welcome... Camelflower - "Botheration"
Hellooooo, Some of you may remember my impassioned rants at how awful I thought Gigaton was/is... Please feel free to enact your revenge and tell me how awful my little lockdown project is - I wrote and recorded an album, "Botheration" for the shits and gigs. Would greatly appreciate the listens whether you enjoy it or not…

Would You Go See/Support Brandi Carlile Fronting Soundgarden?
It has been reported that Brandi has "offered" to front Soundgarden on tour. However, this is COS reporting, it seems more like she was asked if she would and she said she'd love to. https://consequence.net/2021/10/brandi-carlile-soundgarden-singer/

Lyrics/Songs You Didn't Know/Misunderstood The Meaning Of
I'll go first. It wasn't until the last couple years that I clued in why Smashing Pumpkins Rhinoceros was called that. "She (nose), she (nose)....". I had the epiphany in my car one day. I literally groaned out loud at my stupidity.

Angels and Airwaves?
Running an alternative radio station, we get a bunch of albums in daily to try to get on. I never knew Angels and Airwaves is Blink 182s old singer. So I never gave it a listen. But their first single is blowing up right now, so I took a listen. I LIKE IT! A LOT! I never really liked Blink except for a couple songs, but…

Anyone miss the days when rock music was the dominant music genre and rock bands ruled the earth?
Taking a completely different side from my other post (talking about how Ed has mellowed in his hatred of mainstream pop music), I would guess alot of people on here, or at least a significant portion of PJ's fanbase, or at least the OG's, are people who got into the band in their heyday in the 90's. Back then, rock bands…

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit
What does everyone think about Jason's new album? From what I've read on elsewhere it's supposed to be pretty good. I just go my LP in the mail today, looking forward to listening to it tonight or tomorrow. I'm hoping to see them on tour soon - doesn't leave much time to get to know the album beforehand! PS: I can't…
