R.I.P. Robbie Shakespeare

I was very saddened to hear that the great bass player Robbie Shakespeare as died.  I saw Robbie and Sly backing Black Uhuru in August, 1982. What an amazing show and what an amazing bass player.

I know we're all getting older, and I know these things happen. But it just seems like legend after legend is passing! And I think Shakespeare was only 68, which to me isn't... well I guess it always seems too soon.

What's crazy is, pretty much everyone's heard a song or a riff that Sly & Robbie were instrumental in creating, people just don't know it's them.  No matter what kind of music you listen to (unless it's 100% death metal), you've heard Sly & Robbie's magic.

Rest In Bass Power Robbie <3

    Nice words, JH.
And yes, 68 is young.  I had no idea Ribbie was younger than me.  Gone to soon. Very sad.
