If there is no chicken to make the stock I can use store bought and still make something.

    So there.

As long as “anything” is chicken soup ;)

(I’m kidding - I use stock in a lot of things too)

Can you boil water for a length of time to make it useable?  I ask because I really have no idea.

You're reading my mind... I'm currently looking into how to distill water, and from what I'm reading (initially), it doesn't seem terribly difficult.

tap or regular bottled water can be used just reduce your humidity level to prevent it from baking out. and wash the reservoir daily to reduce mineral build up.

Appreciate the advice folks... the mineral buildup is what I'm trying to avoid.
I hope you find a solution, because treating your sleep apnea is about so much more than just not waking up your wife. It’s about your health, and you need to be in the best possible health right now. Good luck!

Bright side... maybe this will help people move to more plant based foods.
In fact the CDC warns that 3 out of 4 new or emerging infectious diseases in people come from eating animals.
I'm guessing we're pretty safe as long as we're not buying our meats in open air markets.

Lots of empty shelves here in Oregon. Been that way for a week. Canned foods and meats sell out quickly and of course paper stuff is rare.

We also have a lack of buckshot when buying ammo.

Same here in central Michigan. Lots of things in short supply like TP and disinfectant. Hard to find meat and butter. Any kind of handgun ammo is gone, same with 223 Rem.

We had a freezer go down and finding a replacement was a challenge. It looks like people have panic bought freezers to store their panic bought food.

I still have hope that we can make it through all of this.

I am going to ask a question and that so as to avoid derailing the OP thread or getting it locked, I invite (sincerely curious and not baiting) why people are out looking for ammo like they are toilet paper.

Went to the Asian market this morning. They're fully stocked.  That's ALL ramen. But it always looks like that.

I would have so much fun in their ramen section.

That's a great question and I have no answer. Some people appear to be taking this pandemic as an apocalyptic zombie scenario in their preparations.

It has me more worried about the other humans than the virus.

Again, people are more than welcome to answer my question via PM. I am not going to tell you that you are wrong for doing the preparations you feel you need to, but I really am genuinely curious.

I am not one of those people who are out looking for ammo. I just know what I know by talking to people on the phone or online. We have been staying away from people and places.

Didn't see mention of PM in your original post. Sorry if I derailed.

    Stay safe people!

Guns are fairly useless without ammo. I can clean my ass with any number of things.
