We're still getting pizza every Friday, and we hit one other takeout spot when we can. I'll let y'all know if someone in the family dies.
Death by pizza...  Pizza the Hut was a bad dude in Space Balls.

In all seriousness you'd never know where it came from.
The pizza? It comes from the pizzeria.

Kind of offtopic.  I keep reading that takeout is safe but im so paranoid.  I’d like to keep supporting my local spots with take out.

Anyone getting take out from time to time?
Nope.  Not anymore.  Not worth it to me.  I already have to wipe down everything I purchase from the supermarket.  Am I going to Lysol my pizza next or wipe down the box?  How much of the box? When does it end?  What is really safe?

I don't know and I am not going to tempt fate.

Fate is predetermined and therefore neither needs nor responds to temptation.

I definitely don't believe in fate.  You can choose your own outcome.

...as long as it doesn't involve pizza...

We don't even have good pizza here. No need to die for it, at least not in Akron.

Thanks for the replies I caved and got pizza last Saturday.  Paid over the phone to avoid spending a long time in there.  When i gave a tip over the phone the kid offered to bring it to my trunk when i arrived.  I still wiped down the box afterwards.   So far so good four days later but im so paranoid. I doubt im doing takeout again. Lol.

That damn Poppa Johns Garlic dipping sauce will make anything taste good.  Do they still make that?

We have gotten take out a few times, including each of the last 2 Saturdays as well as pizza a week ago Sunday.
Trying to maintain a little semblance of normalcy (we usually go out to eat on Saturday) as well as support some of the local restaurants a bit.
I of course get tasked with the pick up, containers not put on the table, food is transferred out of containers onto plates, containers disposed of then hands washed.

    This weekend we rock Portland

Yes, and it's still fucking awesome.  It even makes their pizza edible, and that's saying something!

We haven't eaten anything we didn't prepare since February.
It's hard enough to trust someone else during normal times, these are not normal times.  I'd love a pizza from our local joint, but what if they cough before they close the box. :nuh_uh:

I've done takeout about 4 times in the last 2 weeks or so. I wanted to support my Local Restaurant, but they are unable to stay open for now, so they stopped take out and closed until this shit slows down.

I'm doing takeout tonight at another local place right in my neighborhood that I've been going to for around 20 years. The guy who owns it is from my Town too so I'd like to support him and his employees.  Plus, they make GREAT Cheeseteaks!

You would stop trusting in humanity if you tried our pizza.  It's shitty pizza.  The only decent take-out is Swenson's.

    my store has largely recovered.

Express LIVE! and The Newport both have Mikey's and yet... not yet. But...would I want to eat food served at The Newport?

Grocery on Friday. I'm not super jazzed about it.

I got take out twice. Thai food, and then chicken wings. Had the delivery guy leave the bags outside my door. When I brought them in I immediately transferred the food to my own Tupperware containers and threw away the bag and the food containers. Then I used disinfectant wipes on the surfaces that the bag touched. Then I washed my hands like crazy and renuked the food in the microwave just to be safe. I had the Thai Food last week and seem to be ok. But it is like a 20 minute procedure to be able to eat - like I was preparing to do surgery just to have dinner.

One of our favorite Asian restaurants (which has been doing take out only during this stay at home period) had to close because they could not find anyplace to buy rice.  RICE for crying out loud.  One of the worlds biggest food commodities!

We have not been able to find tortillas.  Our local Raley's is only able to fill about half of our e-cart orders.  And this is only 15 days into the stay at home order.  I'm feeling uneasy today.

I thought this might be an opportunity for people to try cooking and discover healthy better tasting food ... but the Hot Pocket factory showed true american grit.  As far as I can tell, food panic in my area is simmering down

I used to love the old school Hot Pockets, before they made them “healthier” and fancied up the crust.

Palm Beach County FL, I'm a food specialist at BJ'S  and we cannot keep our shelves stocked. If we get a paper truck what my guys display is usually gone within an hour. We cant keep up with the demand even after limiting items to only 2.

Unlike hurricanes where you have a mad rush for 5 or so days and then that ends after the storm comes. With Covid19 the rush has not really subsided for 3+ weeks. The Club is averaging a Million $$$ per week which is good and even better I don't have to mingle with people in order to buy anything since I work overnight.
