It sucks, and hopefully the rescheduled shows will work out with everyone's schedule.

What I'm a little bitter about is that I learned this from a friend who saw it on Facebook and texted me about it.

How about an email to people who actually paid for tickets and made hotel arrangements? 🤔
The news broke an hour ago. They wouldn’t leave you in the dark. Those emails need to go out to tens of thousands of people. No need to get butthurt.

I can’t believe team ED is going to blame the government as part of the reasoning for canceling the tour. What a joke you’ve become and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Learn when to leave politics at the door for once in your freaking life dude.

Nope. Not gonna let your BS fly. When the idiot keeps getting on TV saying how great of a job he’s doing with everything, meanwhile muting the ACTUAL science...and people are coughing themselves to death all over the planet....they absolutely picked the right time to call out what this administration is failing at.
You're right! The President should have postponed these Pearl Jam concerts sooner and then called each and every one of us to let us know!

Not surprised. This is the right thing to do. It's not an overblown reaction. It's smart.

I do not blame the President for the coronavirus.

I do not blame the President for oil prices going down.

I do not even blame the President for the stock market going down 2,000 points today.

I blame the President for being a lying, deceitful, pile of garbage that has done nothing more than tell everyone how great of a job he and his team has done, while REPEATEDLY saying how 'under control' this all was, when that was in no way, shape, or form the reality of the situation.

Even leaving the President out of it, the Gov't should be advising it's citizens and organizations about the best way to handle themselves in a situation like this. They are currently not doing that.
Wash your hands and stay home if you are sick. Have you not heard this message? Would you rather the government shut down all events by making it illegal to congregate over a certain threshold? Sorry, I do not want the government to have that kind of control unless this gets really out of control. The government didn't cause this and they shouldn't have to hold people's hands either. This isn't going to kill everyone but it will kill many if we don't practice basic hygiene and common sense. There's not much the government can do.

Funny..... Most PJ fans I know and or have met over the years have a high degree care and empathy towards others, way opposite of this..

    You're kidding right?

Trump has been a bumbling idiot about this whole thing, focusing instead on his ratings and the stock market.  He has no clue what he's talking about.  He didn't even know you could die from the flu when his grandfather did just that!!!  Trump also defunded the CDC, so there are less people working on disease control.  To top it off he put Pence in charge of coronavirus response.  The guy made an HIV outbreak in Indiana worse when he was in charge of that.

The government is a clusterfuck right now concerning the virus.  He has every right to call them out on not being responsible.  Have you not been following along?  Politics are relevant in this right now because the government is fucking dropping the ball HARD.  We are looking to them to say SOMETHING and advise and they have done NOTHING.

Thank you. 100% the right call.

Also 100% appropriate to bring the government's response into this since a more capable administration and better preventative measures might have better mitigated the potential for this postponement. To anybody bringing transmission rates, recovery rates, growth rates from other countries into the equation, please look at the lengths those countries are going to, including-for starters-acknowledging the scale of the problem. What's happening in the US right now is an embarrassment and will unfortunately lead to a more sustained period of exponential growth. Nobody knows how bad this is in the States right now but it's nearly guaranteed to get much worse before it gets better.

I appreciate the band looking out for us. Cheers!
