Spring Tour Postponed
Letter from the Band
News March 9 2020

As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate. Our kids’ schools have closed along with universities and businesses. It’s been brutal and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.

So we are being told that being part of large gatherings is high on the list of things to avoid as this global health crisis is now beginning to affect all of our lives.

Unfortunately, communing in large groups is a huge part of what we do as a band and the tour we’ve been busy planning for months is now in jeopardy...

We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters as top priority.

So it is with deep frustration and regret that we are forced to make this most unfortunate of announcements...

This scheduled first leg of our PJ/Gigaton tour will need to be postponed and shows rescheduled for a later date.

We’ve worked hard with all our management and business associates to find other solutions or options but the levels of risk to our audience and their communities is simply too high for our comfort level. Add to that we also have a unique group of passionate fans who travel far and wide. We’ve always been humbled by this and respect their energies and devotion. However in this case, travel is something to avoid.

It certainly hasn’t helped that there’s been no clear messages from our government regarding people’s safety and our ability to go to work. Having no examples of our national health department’s ability to get ahead of this, we have no reason to believe that it will be under control in the coming weeks ahead.

Again, here in Seattle what we are witnessing we would not wish for anyone. What we do wish for the rest of the country is that they can avoid the harsh negative effects of this and retain their sense of community and take care of one another. Just as we look forward to our next concerts and the ability to gather together and play loud songs as energized as ever.

We are so sorry…

And deeply upset...

If anyone out there feels the same based on this news, we share that emotion with you.

- Ed & Pearl Jam

Ticketing

We understand it is important to know how ticketing will work. Ticketmaster will be in touch shortly, but current tickets will be honored for the new dates.

    Thank you, @Sea

I think I speak for almost all of us, when I say we understand.

Health & safety are paramount, and we're not getting a whole lot of that from the current administration.

It's up to local and state governments and important figures like the band to stand up and make these calls for the safety of all involved.

These shows are just postponed, and I know we'll all see each other down the road.

    I know it.

Be safe and be well, all.

The right decision. Hopefully after this virus blows over the western world can learn not to be so tethered by the Chinese economy.

This is a major bummer. I feel really bad for everyone who will have travelled far and is losing out on a lot of money.

This is absolutely the right decision.
I'm sure it was difficult to make it though.
    Thanks.

I appreciate this move. As a resident of NYC and a physician this is very serious.  There are many more carriers than we are aware.  Perhaps now you will however consider adding an msg show.   Please consider!

I get it, and it's the right thing for the band to do, but I still believe this whole virus situation is being blown way out of proportion.

Would be cool if they did a live simulcast type show to tide us over, kind of like a combination of Radiohead "Live From the Basement" and Self-Pollution Radio.

Sucks but this was absolutely the right call. So glad it's postponed not cancelled, so we can use our tickets when it does happen.

I was worried about this back in late January but caught a ton of shit for raising the possibility. Hopefully most folks eventually made contingency plans and will recoup most of their travel expenses :(

I get it, however, is there a refund for 10 club tickets or will the tix be good for the re scheduled shows. How about people who are traveling, and cant possibly get refunds for hotel or flights? That's money a lot of us cant afford to lose.

Kicking myself for getting rid of my Denver tickets. My transplant was approved for feb 18 and have a long ways to recover. But with the delay I could have fucking gone!!

I doubt they’re postponing due to things being overblown.

Disappointed for now but totally understand.

Yeah gotta work on flights and hotels. It fit into my daughter schedule. Got GA in SD with my friend from LA. With all the talk I was concerned. This is just a major bummer.

I’m almost positive cancellation policies went out the window. Confirm with your airline and hotel about a credit or refund due to the virus.

Completely the right decision. I’d like to know what’s happening with tickets though. Will those of us with tickets be able to keep them and have guaranteed seats for the rescheduled shows?

I don’t see these shows being rescheduled until next year. Any insight?
